If there is anyone who watched Three's Company on ABC in the late 70' earlier 80's, i have a question about the character Chrissy Snow.

I watched it during it's original run as well as the short-lived "Ropers" and "Three's a Crowd." What is your question?

Actually, when the phone scenes began airing and more time passed, I knew she would not be gracing the Three's Company set with her fellow cast members anymore. As for the "Ropers," like most people I initially enjoyed and tuned into the show, but as with most one-joke shows, my interest quickly waned. I think this was the general consensus and the reason for the series slipping in the ratings after a promising start, leading to eventual cancellation.

As for Cindy, I must confess that I thought she would become a permanent cast member; I had no idea that she would last for such a short time. I always associate Jennilee Harrison's tenure on TC with Shelley Hack's on "Charlie's Anglels." Both actresses stepped in to replace a popular cast member and both lasted for a short time, before being replaced themselves by actresses that would remain with the show until it's end.
I felt that replacing the Ropers was an almost impossible task, but to the show's credit, they managed to admirably succeed. I think if anyone aside from the fabulous Don Knotts had been hired it would not have worked. The Ropers were memorable and the actors that played them left an indelible impression on viewer's minds. The only way to carry on was to bring on another memorable and indelible character actor in the form of Don. I think he added a great dynamic to the show and his character did not depend on a one-joke premise, as opposed to the Roper's sexless marriage. |

I still found it kind of odd that Cindy and Chrissy did not have a phone scene and they were cousins. Only Jack once, and Janet 8 other times. |

I forgot my main question, during the original run of Three's Company did you notce that the character Lana never returned? Or was that something you didn't pay attention to? |

Did you know, back in '81, the fight going on between the producers and Suzzane or did you read years later? What kind of attention the tabloids and press in general gave to such infigthing? What was the public reaction? And one last question. Was Joyce DeWitt part of the Hollywood circle back then? i saw the NBC movie and i don't understand the reason she would turn her back on Hollywood. I would think that rigth after the show ended she would be offered another sitcom, TV movies or maybe write a book. Thanks sam |

At the end of the show, they showed no respect to her. During their vacation or something, John and the producers started doing Three's A Crowd, without letting Joyce know, and that really hurt her-- that she had to dissappear like that, because she felt that she was too a big part of TC. I think she also didnt like the feminism that she had to face during the whole TC run. I'm not sure, there are a lot of Joyce fans here, so I think they might now more than me. |

From what I remembered about Joyce the press I remembered didn't make a big hoopla about her life. I think in the beginning it did but, then it died down a bit.
John Ritter's life in the press was a little bit more. As for Suzanne she dominated the press back then with her shennanigans. Also the press loved the Ropers life being taken to it's new show. There was alot of hoopla about that back then. When the new show 3's a crowd was beginning to form I remember how bad it was for Joyce and how mad she got with the shows producers, directors and John Ritter. That was all over the papers as well. |

I forgot to mention that back then... it was well known that if the show "The Ropers" did not make it for whatever reason that The Ropers could go back to Three's company. I remember reading about that way back when........... What they did to the cast who played the Ropers was a disgrace. Even though I like Mr. Furley I think that the actors who played The Ropers got a bum rap.

Can you refresh my memory, Why was Joyce mad at the producers, writers, and John Ritter in regards to Three's A Crowd? |

You know what i'm still trying to find out? Since the Ropers got a bum rap, how did the producers get the actors who played the Ropers to do a guest appearance a year after the Ropers were cancelled? I guess i will never find that out. |

actually this was the first show I start from start to finish
I saw the very first episode & the last ..I love this show so much!! but for all the problems with the show.. I never heard any of it I was still kinda young I was maybe in 1st grade & maybe like 7th grade or so.. The only thing I remember is that my mom said in the Tabs.. that Joyce was pissed that they lied to her at the end! she just bought a new porsche and then got fired. |
