I had always thought that the first episode of MRFD was Andy's last. Not so. Did they ever explain where he went? I've tried to watch MRFD, but can never latch on the whole Andy absence thing. Thanks in advance.

I'm not a usual watcher of Mayberry RFD, but if you want to get the eps that Andy is in, make sure to get the 'Andy's Baby' ep. I think they had already left Mayberry by that point, but Andy and Helen come back with Andy Jr. Funny how Andy Jr. wasn't mentioned at all in the Return to Mayberry movie, atleast I don't think he was mentioned. I'll look up epguides and see if I can find an answer to your question.

In the first season of Mayberry R.F.D. set in 1968-69, Andy guest starred in about four of the early episodes. The premeire of the second season, had Andy and Helen visiting. They never mentioned when are that they left, but obviously they left. When they returned it was treated as though they had been gone a while.

I have been watching Mayberry RFd on the goodlife tvnetwork. Many old shows to watch there. Mayberry is on sunday nights. I try to tape them for 2 hours are on, one at 9pm and another i think at 12am. I have yet to to see the Andy JR episode. I do admit I haven' seen all the episode. I may not have taped certain nights. One poster mention no Andy jr mentioned in Return to Mayberry. I guess they figure half the country forgot.
