Arrow Reference - 'Early One Morning' song

I watched tonights episode of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and they used that song called 'Early One Morning' and it reminded me of Liz singing it in the King Henry VIII episodes. Just thought I'd make that reference. Below are the lyrics from the version I have of Liz singing the song. I also got this version from Vic's Bewitched Page.

Liz singing 'Early One Morning' (right click and click on 'save target as')

Early one morning,
Just as the sun was rising,
I heard a maid sing,
In the valley below

O, don't deceive me,
O, never leave me,
How could you use
A poor maiden so?

Remember the vows that you made to your Mary,
Remember the bow'r where you vow'd to be true;
O don't deceive me,
O never leave me!
How could you use a poor maiden so?

O gay is the garland, fresh are the roses
I've culled from the garden to bind on thy brow.
O don't deceive me,
O never leave me!
How could you use a poor maiden so?

She's got a wonderful voice doesn't she?

Her voice was much more suited to ballads such as this. The rock-'n-roll tunes she sang as Serena (and perhaps once as Samantha?) were not very flattering. I believe Endora referred to Serena's singing as "wailing".

I personally like everything she sings on the show, but I do have to admit though that my favorites are 'Early One Morning' and 'Jolly Red Nose.'

Yes, but Serena was supposed to be a bad singer anyway. EM's voice (as herself) was great-- here's "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered" with Vic Damone in 1966:

Ahh, yes, another one of my favorites!
Just out of curiousity does anyone have the words to this version?

Yup- I wrote them down right off my Hollywood Palace tape.

Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered- Lyrics
(from the Oct. 1, 1966 Hollywood Palace):

(spoken)
LIZ: Well, that was just beautiful, Vic.
VIC: Why, thank you, Elizabeth. You know, I never miss your show.
LIZ: Oh?
VIC: Never miss it. You've made noses popular in show business for the first time. First time.
LIZ: Oh, Vic. Didn't you ever hear of Jimmy Durante or Bob Hope?

(sung)
VIC: Every week on television,
I'm a fool about your charms.
Since I saw you, I envisioned
You here in my arms.

LIZ: Compliments like that are charming
Warm, and real, and fine, and rich.
But my looks are not disarming
You're hooked by my twitch.

VIC: I'm wild again
Beguiled again
A simpering, whimpering child again...

LIZ: Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered are you.
Furthermore, you'll notice that you couldn't sleep
And wouldn't sleep
When I came and told you
You shouldn't sleep...

VIC: Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered am I.
I'm in your power
But what of it?

LIZ: He is lost. I can tell.
Watch my nose...

VIC: How I love it.

BOTH: It's a bewit-ching spell.

LIZ: But here's the thing:
Each spell I bring
Just comes back at me when I hear you sing

BOTH: Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered....
Reciprocal magic is not very tragic when I...
....have.....
...you!

I find her singing Early One Morning quite sexy. There was somewhat a sexy sound to Liz's voice when she did that song. Given that it was the final season of the show and it was played out. The one redeeming quality of that season was realizing that Liz Montgomery have a beautiful singing voice and her mod look definitely brought out a sexier side to her. Bill Asher, then husband, must had to keep a tight grip on Liz with that long hair and mini skirts.

She had one of those voices that could hypnotize you and no matter how much you try to resist you just have to hear it one more time.

Speaking of long hair and mini skirts, I don't know why but that just made me think of this quote from 'Double, Double, Toil and Trouble.' I'm sick of simmering like a watched pot I want to get out and boil.
