Rob Lowe made his final appearance on NBC's political drama the West Wing on Feb. 26, but it's far from the end for the actor.
He has a new movie, another TV show in the works, and a personal crusade that he's focused on. Access Hollywood's Billy Bush sat down for an exclusive interview with the star who discussed his new projects. As a paid spokesperson for ByMySide.com, Rob's putting his celebrity to work by helping cancer patients to not be so fearful of the side effects of chemotherapy. Rob and his family were affected by the disease when it hit close to home. "Both my grandmothers [had cancer] and my father, who is now doing well – he's a lymphoma survivor. But like for most families who have had experience with cancer, it changes you forever. It's a great opportunity to reconnect with people." Rob said the site's new town hall chats are sharing important information, free of charge. "Most people who have cancer want the strongest stuff. They want to knock this out and almost 60% of them don't because they're so fearful of the side effects." Rob is also busy with life after the West Wing. At the urging of family friend Gwyneth Paltrow, he took a role in the comedy A View From the Top. "She's very sexy and funny. I play co-pilot Steve, who has the hots for Gwyneth. It's all very funny," Rob told Billy. As for television, Rob may be gone from the West Wing, but not from NBC. He's shooting a pilot for the network in March. It's a legal drama called Lyon's Den. "I'll be able to talk more about it as it becomes appropriate. It's like a top secret experiment at the moment, but it's a very, very exciting thing," said Rob. |

Hmm, interesting. I remember seeing him a few months ago with his father on Dr. Phil talking about his dad's illness. I wonder what his brother's up to these days. I saw him at the oscars, but I never hear too much what's new with him.

I only watched Lyon's Den once, but didn't think it was that good. I do miss Rob on WW though. The guy who plays Will Bailey just doesn't do anything for me. The interaction of Josh and Sam was a big part of the show in previous seasons.
