Lots of Lucy: Celebrating I Love Lucy's 50th Anniversary
Through October 31, 2001

On the night of Monday, October 15, 1951, a new television series called I Love Lucy debuted on the CBS network. It featured the hijinks of a redheaded housewife named Lucy Ricardo (played by Lucille Ball) and her Cuban bandleader husband Ricky (played by Desi Arnaz). The Museum celebrates the
fiftieth anniversary of the premiere of I Love Lucy by screening thirteen classic I Love Lucy episodes. Many of these feature the original opening animation for the show, as well as original commercials. Screens Tuesdays through Sundays at 12:15 p.m.

The Museum of Television & Radio in New York, located at 25 West 52 Street in Manhattan, is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays, and Friday evenings until 9:00 p.m. (theaters only). The Museum of Television & Radio in California, located at 465 North Beverly
Drive, Beverly Hills, is open Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 5:00p.m. and until 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays. Both Museums are closed on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The public areas in both Museums are accessible to wheelchairs. Programs are subject to change. You may call the Museum in New York at (212) 621-6800 or in California at (310)
786-1000. Visit the Museum's website at http://www.mtr.org.

Well, well, dawsongirl . . . I finally have something you don't. I can't get so many TV channels that you get and now, I'm right around the corner from this most excellent Lucy exhibit and you're halfway across the county. Idaho? Utah? Where are you again?

Terry, I'm planning to go into NYC to the Museum in the next couple of weeks. Would you like to meet up? It would be fun to watch Lucy with someone who loves the show as much as I do......

I was to the Museum last week. The 'Lots of Lucy' Program hadn't started, but they have a huge supply of Lucy episodes to watch. You can search a database of programs and chose what you want to watch in the screening room. I saw some great I Love Lucy, Lucy Show and Here's Lucy episodes that I hadn't seen. They have lots of other rare appearances aand shows too. If you get the chance, GO!
