Wether it was an episode watching experience, discussing it with friends, or dreaming of/and or meeting one of the cast members, what is your all time favorite family ties memory?

One moment stands out was the episode when Elyse's aunt, played by Barbara Barrie, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and Elyse telling the family stories. Meredith Baxter Birney definitely displayed her gifted dramatic acting skills. Too bad FT was not a drama series, like her former series Family was, and you would have seen pure in depth acting from Meredith Baxter.

Late 2002 Steelville Mo
I sit down in my room and watch Family Ties on N@N. For the first time in my life I see the episode, Miracle In Columbus and I am captivated. |

I don't think I could possibly pick my MOST favorite episode!
I love all of them! However, I have to say that the episode where Gina Davis plays Karen, the Keaton's nanny, is so hillarious that it is absolute brilliance in writing and acting. I also to this day start to cry in the last episode when Alex hugs Mallory and you can hear his voice crack when he says, "I'll warm up New York for ya Mal." |

My favorite moment was when Mallory was in danger of failing that History class because she felt she was TOO DUMB. The best part that really showed Justin Bateman's acting skill was when she burst out an intelligent answer in a fit of anger. That, to me, was a good way of a teacher getting through to a hard to reach student like Mallory.
The entire series up to that point had subplots to mallory not being the best in school and people always telling her that she was not applying herself. Some examples were the time that she cheated on the math test or when she didn;t want to go to college at first, or in episodes where she totally disregards school. That particular episode with her in danger of not graduating totally woke her up out of that "oh I'm not so good in school" jazz. Mallory proved that when push came to shove, she was really on top and motivated to do the right thing. |
