Question about two new characters at the start of 1975-1976 Season - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I read in a 1975 issue of TV Guide that a gypsy and a preacher was added to give the show Chico and the Man some new supporting characters. Did these additions help or hurt the show?

Solomn in my opinon I think those charecters, Myklos the gypsy and Reverand Beemis helped the show, especially Reverand Beemis.
Some wonderful storylines were created around these charecters, the lottery and the show where Chico filled in as preacher for Reverand beemis they were great!!!

Did the character Reverand Beemis return the following season?

No. Reverend Bemis was only in the 1975-76 season. Once he left (without explanation), Della Reese joined the show. I happen to love Reverend Bemis, though and wish he had stayed for the rest of the run.
