I want to make a new one with a rock theme, but the ones I get online are too big, and I want something different than what I can get here. I'll have to scan something...

I had difficulty with this, too. Let me see if I can remember. Go to User CP and go to User Options. Scroll down to the bottom and go to change avatar. Go down to the bottom and set use custom avatar to yes. You can either enter a URL for your avatar or you can upload one from your computer. I had to shrink mine a little bit for it to fit. Hope this helps.

How do you shrink the image? I go to properties, but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to change the dimensions of the image.

You'll have to use Photoshop or Paint Shot Pro or one of those programs that you can make or edit pictures.
