Cool Songs You Associate With....

...Specific memories. These are the songs that take you right back to a certain day, time, person, event etc in your life.

Some of mine:

You're No Good- Linda Ronstadt ...I think of when my brother was a baby. That song was big.

Listen To The Music- The Doobie Bros. ...I'm not too sure why, but I think of my father. He used to dress in 70s jean caps & jeans & he kinda *looked* like he could be in the band!

A Day In The Life- Beatles...I think of when I was about 9 or 10, I'd just discovered The Beatles on a more serious level & that summer, me & 3 or 4 friends my age all decided we'd be "the jr. Beatles"! We sat by an old piano (that none of us could play) & recorded that song! My god. I'm kicking myself for loosing that recording, but I'd be so embarrassed by it, I'm kinda glad it's gone!

More when I think of them...

Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
Bed Of Roses- Bette Midler
^^ both of those I associate with being 9 years old and my parents 1st separating. I get really emotional with those songs.

Cant take That Away -Mariah Carey> kinda personal...

Hanging By A Moment - Lifehouse >thats really personal..so yeah

there are other songs but i cant think of em rite now...

Any Beatles, Righteous Brothers, Temptations or Four Seasons songs... those take me back to my childhood when my dad and I... well.... used to be close. He listens to all that stuff.

Any song from "The Wizard of Oz" takes me back to last May when our school put on TWOO for our spring play. Those were two of the best nights in my life, and I'd give anything to go back to them to just re-live 'em.

'Gotta Be' by Des'ree and 'I Hope You Dance' by Lee Ann Womack have some recent, well, they're not memories, but, they're memories. Really hard to explain.

At first I thought the subject ment "songs you related to"... wow, then I'd have a book for an answer...

NOSEY!!! J/K

Well the Mariah Carey song reminds me of when my brother came home, he was either high or drunk and he started an argument w/ me, mom and sister. He told me I could never make it as a singer and that I'd never go anywhere. And then he spit in my face...

Hanging By A Moment by Lifehouse reminds me of the last day I saw someone I really really cared about. I had to say goodbye. It was so sad. Cuz I loved this person and I was really close to them. I thought I would never see them again. But i ended up seeing them like a year and a half later. We still have the same relationship as we did a year and a half ago. i'm so glad to have them back in my daily life...

Okay..now that I'm all emotional...lol

I remember when the guy I liked first broke my heart (one of many times over the course of 5 years.) I went home and turned up Aerosmith's "Same Old Song and Dance" really loud. Sometimes I still think of that when I hear that song and I'm in the same kind of mood.

There are SO many songs I associate with the past - too many to even list. One that I can think of is "Summer Breeze" by Seals&Crofts,it reminds me of when I was a child in Rockville,MD and all of the fun times I had, that I can never get back.

The song "Sweet Home Alabama" takes me back a couple years. My friend Robin was acting beyond crazy, screaming that song at the top of her lungs. She's a nut!

Oh, and about 2 years ago, I was riding in the car listening to the radio and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" came on the radio. I've been hooked to Nirvana ever since.......

-Just Walk Away Renee- You Didnt Have To Be So Nice- Hooked On A Feeling- Hey Jude- Yesterday- In My Life- Imagine- Unchained Melody- End Of The Road- Its So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday- What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted

^All of those put me in one of those blah moods where I just get into a depressed slump.

Macho Man- Hot Stuff- ByeByeBye- Oops!...I Did It Again- Larger Than Life- Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely- any pop song from 1999/2000

^Those songs/pop music from 99/00 just bring me back to the best year of my life and put me in one of those good moods, yet kinda slumpy because now its the past.

Honey~back when I was starting to be really obsessed with Mariah Carey, this song came out and I loooooved her for making this song, because it was hip hopish and sexy and i just loved her for making it!

Ironic~I loved Alanis Morisete back then....I dont know why lol, but she was good back then imo...

Waterfalls~We'd always sing that song back then, like we did Creep...when Creep came out, me and my friends bought the silky pajamas like they wore and danced to it...lol....Crazy Sexy Cool was also 1 of my first c.d.s

My Boo~Great party song and i love it to this day.

Crossroads~I love Bone THugs N harmony but this is my ultimate favorite song of theirs

Breakdown~Mariah Carey's collabo with Bone Thugs N Harmony I loved that song so much, and I loved both of the so much at the time, infact Mariah was pretty much my favorite, up until she came out with Rainbow. lol Butterfly, No. 1s, and all the c.d.s before that I loved of hers.

Killing Me Softly~I remember going to Six Flags back in 1997 withsome girls from church this song would be on, and we'd all stop and sing and joke around lol it was fun....

Age Aint Nothin But A Number~back in 1994....This may have been the first Aaliyah song I ever heard, but I loved it, and I wanted to hear more from her

Ghetto Superstar~I remember how me and my friends were crazy about Bullworth (the movie) it was funny and this song was funny and I loved Mya's voice

Human Nature~That was just out of the Erotica and Sex book **** she was getting for making it and she came out with that song, I just loved her attitude and how she didnt care what ppl thought because they were just being hyprocrites anyway.

If You Had My Love~ The first J. Lo song I heard and I looooved how she danced.

there are soooooo many others like No Diggity by Blackstreet, The Velvet Rope songs from Janet Jackson, and others.....
