An early portrait of Robert Stack and a producer from Unsolved Mysteries.
But seriously, those sketches come from two cases on UM. I can't remember the first one, but I do know that the second one is a sketch of an unidentified bomber. Though these cases are serious, this is just a lightweight scary thread! AIE! Anyway, here's another sketch! Look, it's Roger Daltrey!

I recognize the first one. It was a sketch of a man who used an elaborate scam to make women pull over on the road. He would drive up beside them and yell that there was something wrong with their tire. The first few times the women pulled over, he did nothing to them. But then he grew more violent. He murdered one woman and nearly killed another. To my knowledge, this case has never been solved.

Hey all!
Rehashing an old thread here, but I know there was a composite sketch posted on this board a while back that I can't seem to find. It was a man with dark hair and a mustache I think. He had kind of a round face. Does this ring a bell with anyone? |

I just got finished watching the case regarding the first sketch. The man that would make women pull over and killed this one woman. He drove a black pick up. Wow....he hasn't been caught yet. Creepy!!

Guy Number One has been caught...or at least charged.
I posted a thread about it a few months ago. In the article there was a picture of him and I remember commenting how much he looked like the composite sketch. I'll look for the thread.... jeeps |

It really makes you wonder about profiling since they also suspect him of the 1996 slayings of a lesbian couple in the Shenandoah National Park. I mean, there's seemingly no way a profiler or investigator would link those two types of crimes, so disimilar in locale. In a way, it's a bit reminiscent of Zodiac since he also confronted couples in cars but perhaps his signature crime was the knifing of a couple in a secluded area near a lake, while they were a long distance from their car and having a picnic or similar. Plus if Zodiac hadn't bragged about his murder of the cab driver Paul Stine in San Francisco, I absolute guarantee no connection would have been made to Zodiac based on MO. |

Shouldn't Lifetime have had an update when the case aired this past week? That article was from two years ago.

I think the name of the guy in the first sketch is Darrell David Rice. I don't know what episode he was in.

Kids, the first sketch is of a man sought for the 1996 murder of Alicia Showalter Reynolds. He is a serial killer and known as the "Route 29 stalker".
Just last week I was reading up on Michael Nicholaou (great pastime, I know) and was actually going to post something about it on here, anyway some were speculating that perhaps he was responsible for the abduction and murder of Alicia Showalter Reynolds. I didn't think it really fit his M.O., he was more savvy than to approach 2 dozen women before finally getting one to pull over but then again, who knows? There is that Virginia connection there and all... I just did a bit more digging and now it shows that charges were, in the end dismissed against Rice. Check out www.darrellrice.org . It claims the following: * There were no eyewitnesses to the murder; * There was no murder weapon; * There was no confession to the crime; * There was no established time of death; * The time-of-death that the US Attorney was asserting was contradicted by eyewitness testimony; * There was no motive for Darrell Rice to commit the crime. * There was male DNA at the crime scene, and it wasn’t Darrell Rice’s. So I guess the door is left open for the 29 stalker to theoretically be Nicholaou but still, I don't really see it. Any other opinions? |
