It is really sad that they're both dead. I remember when I first heard that Alliyah had died and I was shocked. Both Lisa and Alliyah died too young.

Thumbs down

It is true that they died too young but a lot of people die young and noone gives a f*ck. Why should we care anymore just cos these people happened to be in the public eye?
Alliyah dies in a plane crash and everyone gets all upset about her passing..............but a lot of other people died in that crash along with her but do they get mentioned on the news??? Of course not. They weren't famous enough!
Fluffy-bun shot herself in the foot with her original post cos she helped to illustrate my point perfectly -
She said she didn't even like Alliyah's music.............but she's sorry she died. It sounds like she feels guilty about not buying Alliyah's CD's while she were still alive.
Why is it that people are only appreciated post-humously? Take Kurt Cobain for example. Do you think he'd be as well-respected and revered as he is today were he still alive? The same goes for John Lennon.
If either of these guys were still around and making music today, they'd be getting as much critisism and bull$h!t from the press and public as everyone else! Why should it make any difference that they're dead?!

You should really be ashamed of yourself talking about Aaliyah like that. I care that she died, I loved her and her music..I don't know how you coldsay no one cares that she died...Alot of people cared...See this is why i always get into fights with people because they say the most stupid sh!!t.

I didn't say that "no one cares that she died" - you completely misunderstood my post!
My point is that, if Alliyah were still alive today, I could say I thought she sucked and noone would care. It's just that now she's dead and I say I think she sucked, everyone gets mad at me!
My point was - why is it that music artists only get serious recognition and respect after they've died??

Next time, read my posts properly before you start taking pot-shots!!

I take it you don't do well in reading comprehension tests at school. You're totally missing Mossopp's point. I happen to agree wholeheartedly with what she said.

I totally agree. It's very sad she died, but I didn't care for her music when she was alive so if I were to say it was crap now people would be like 'you're EVIL, how could you say that!?'...
