Did the contract for Matlock expire?? Will it still be aired?

I know you're not kidding, Pav, but you have got to be kidding me. That is quite a surprise, actually.

It starts airing weekdays for four hours from 8am to 12pm starting March 31 and after the series finale on The WB on May 14, it will air on TBS weekdays at 9 and 10am:

TBS will air "Dawson's Creek" in four-hour marathons each weekday for six weeks beginning March 31 in order to drum up viewership for the May 14 series finale on the WB.

The off-net purchase is valued at about $200,000 per episode by. "Dawson's Creek" will replace "Matlock" weekdays at 9 and 10 a.m. when it assumes its regular time slot after the WB finale airs in May.

Beginning Monday, March 31, TBS Superstation will air four episodes of DAWSON’S CREEK each weekday from 8 a.m-12 p.m. (ET), giving viewers the chance to see the entire series in order before it comes to a conclusion on the WB. Following May 14, DAWSON’S CREEK will air weekdays at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. (ET) on the Superstation.

I don't know. Matlock will be leaving after March 28. Dawson's Creek will air weekdays from 8am to Noon starting March 31 until May 12, then starting May 12 Dawson's Creek will air weekdays at 9am and 10am.

So Mama's Family (8-9am) will be moving to 6-7am ET starting March 31. The Parent'Hood and Amen will be taing a break.

That is... odd. I wouldn't picture Dawson's Creek being on tbs in a million years.

Those were exactly my thoughts, lol, I would never expected to see DC on TBS. It just doesn't really seem to fit. I figured it would go to WGN or WE or fx, or any place but TBS.

TBS beat out WE and ABC Family for the cable rights for this show. TNT would be a better fit, but I think TBS is "trying" to become more modern in the morning, like how TNT is airing Charmed.

Ah. I can't even see ABC Family airing it either, lol. I could have seen WE airing it (because they have Felicity, I guess). It's just an interesting move on TBS' part. Yeah, I could see it on TNT too. I'm not really a big fan of the show, so I couldn't really care, it just seems so odd of TBS, lol. Guess I'll have to get over it. I was never really a fan of Matlock either, so either way, I don't know why I care so much, haha.

10:00am Dawson's Creek replaces Matlock
7:00pm Seinfeld replaces Friends

Pre-liminary schedule, effective May 12 (when Dawson moves into it's 9-11am slot):

What's happening to the 6-7am block? Will MF stay at 6am and Parent'hood and Amen move to 7am? Or vice versa? lol. Or will SBTB air for 2 hours? Hope not.

Thanks for the update.

The May 12 is still pre-liminary, and has SBTB airing for 2 hours. Matlock, Amen, Parent'Hood are not in the line-up. They are for sure not in the March 31 line-up.

Wow, that is kind of an odd choice. I'm not really a fan of Dawson's Creek either, but yeah, it's still an odd choice. I don't mean anything bad by that. I'm just saying I never imagined the show on TBS.

Just found out that they still have rights to Matlock, it's just going to be on hiatus. They have it through the end of 2006 (Dec). Believe it or not, but don't expect Little House on the Prairie to be leaving anytime soon, they have that until February of 2008! They have Mama's Family until the end of August 2006 and Saved by the Bell until then as well.
All those shows have been TBS staples for many years, and have been renewed a lot already. They can go on hiatus anytime though.
