Yep, I have noticed that. There are a lot of ILL references on the Simpsons, such as the club being The Tropicana, which Cathy first mentioned.

I've seen a reference to "The Lucy Show" on the Simpsons (even though I rarely even watch it). I've heard Bart make some kind of joke about Mr. Mooney.

And the time Lucy appeared to Lisa and Lisa said she felt like Lucie Arnaz Luckenbill.

I get a kick out of these references to Lucy, not just on the Simpsons but everywhere. Even on the news today, one of the anchors said, "France and Germany will certainly have some 'splaining to do." It's great to know that Lucy is still such a big part of our pop culture.

The best one is The Gilmore Girls, they've done it a lot, and Will and Grace did it a few times, once Karen goes to a party at Grace's new apartment and Grace answers the door in a 50's style dress, so Karen says, hi Grace, where are Fred and Ethel?

"The Nanny" has also done it several times -- an ILL dream sequence during the wedding episode (although they cut it out of the re-run), and I remember when Fran and Val were going to Hollywood, and Mr. Sheffield said something along the lines of "What are you two gonna do? Steal John Wayne's footprints?". I've seen another dream sequence of ILL on "Lois & CLark". Lois was Lucy, and Clark made a super Ricky - and even did the accent very well.

That 70's Show did one once. Fez was Ricky and Donna was Lucy. Eric's parents were Fred and Ethel. It was hilarious!

There are so many of these. There was an ep of Kate and Allie where Jan Curtin did Lucy and Susan St James was Ethel. Mad about you had Reiser sleeping and saying Oh Mr Mooney. . . an ep of Designing women had the best though, this character comes in to photograh them and she has no enthuseasm for anything till she spots the Lucy episodes casette and lights up like a Christmas tree, as soon as her boss tells her to stop, she reverts back to her old dull bored self! They all make comments on Lucy and the shows and at the end during the credits, they show a picture of Lucy and play the theme song.

I remember on "Gilmore Girls", someone walks in and says "Oh hi honey, WHERE IS FRED AND ETHEL?"

That was on Will and Grace! It was Karen walking into Grace's apartment.
