I voted for Simone because she seemed so earthy and deep and she's pretty...and Jawaharlal because he's cute and seems like a nice and humble person. What about the rest of you? Why did you pick who you picked?

As much as I love Sarah's looks and personality, I am not choosing her because I didn't think her role was as good as others. So because of this, I choose Arvid, for his funny, nerdy, fun character. Dennis was great too, him and Arvid were perfect together. I love the foreign people too, so Jawaharlal is another good one, and I like Eric as the "cool kid".

I chose four:

-Eric: He acted tough, but you could tell deep down how sensitive and caring he really was.

-Simone: I love poetry, so that's a reason Also, because she was pretty, smart, and seemed like a free spirit compared to the other girls in the class.

-Arvid: I liked his character very much, and I always laughed with him, not at him. When he finally got to dance with Laurie at the prom was a great moment. Also, he and Dennis were comic gold together.

-Dennis: Dennis literally had me rolling off the bed with laughter whenever I watched him. He was good on his own but he and Arvid were even better as a comic team, which is why I had to choose both of them.

P.S. I would have picked Sarah because I liked her character, but they did very little with her, IMO they certainly didn't develop her as they did with the other characters. The same with Jawaharlal, whose character got shafted big time by the writers. He was such a great character and they did little to develop him!

I agree, Sarah and Jawaharlal didn't get much attention.

I totally agree with you guys about Jawaharlal. (But then again, you already knew that... )

Sarah didn't get as much character development as the "major" players (Darlene, Eric, Arvid, Dennis, Simone), but I thought that she got enough screen time and did have decent stories about her (usually with her and Darlene having a "friendly quarrel" and making up in the end, be it over a car or a boy, and we got to get insight into her home life, her going out with Arvid, and let's not forget "Let's Rap"). Jawaharlal, on the other hand, had the corniest stories about him. The class hates Charlie's play, but Jawaharlal likes it. Okay. Jawaharlal enters a poster contest. Okay. But that is nothing near Eric putting down his tough-guy act and showing his sensitive, writer side (and seeing his alcoholic father and bitter mother, letting us get an idea as to why Eric has to be so tough), or Arvid, the perpetual nerd, fantasizing about being so cool and getting the girl. There was one opportunity that I believe the writers should've (SHOULD'VE!) worked with, was in "Don't Play With Matches," where Jawaharlal confesses to the class that there was an arranged marriage for him. There could've been a cultural lesson there, and they could've did a follow-up episode with that (where Jawaharlal, the good foreign student defies his parents and tells them that he admires them and their culture, but he is now Americanized where he wants to live his own life and make his own choices, perfect storyline), but of course, they didn't do that. There are times where I feel that the Eustis Elias people had a thing against Middle Easterners, and let that affect Jawaharlal's character development, but I don't know. Only Jory/Joher knows...and I want to know the truth as to why he left!

OMG that is a wonderful Idea! That would have been great to see on the show!

I liked Alan and Alex (although he wasn't in the original cast)....I guess for obvious reasons only, but they were funny too. Alex didn't get a lot of attention unless he was directly involved in one of the storylines. I think it was the same for Alan.

Your right about directly involved in one of the storylines . But I think Alan when he was talking made a big thing out of it(in a good way), so it makes his role seem bigger. He was so funny!
