I see a lot of anti-Ricky Gervais stuff on other message boards and I really can't understand it. The guy is responsible for one of the most original and funny shows in years.

I think The Office is a funny show, I just think Ricky Gervais comes across alot like David Brent, he was ok at first but I think fame has inflated his ego

I don't think I've really seen Ricky Gervais being interviewed much so you could be right.
It definetly is a great comedy though, I wasn't sure about it at first but after watching a few episodes you get hooked! |

I just recently got Peter Kay's 'Phoenix Nights' on DVD and have been checking them out. I really like the show and think it's quite funny and well-written and performed. The only thing is that sometimes it's so incredibly HARD to understand what they're saying! I'm in Canada so I lot of the local accents and terms are lost on me and I'm usually really good at the stuff. Also, I was so annoyed that they never included any subtitles on the DVD. That would have helped immensely. Other than that it seems like a really good show. I'm sure it will grow on me more as I watch more episodes.
