Do’h! Do’h! Do’H! Do’h! Do’h! Do’h!... DONE???
By Brett Ferino Chit Chat Columnist You probably know what this column might be about. All I want to know if whether you know what it’s gonna be about. Yes, one of the longest running toons ever, “The Simpsons”. Why don’t the kids ever grow up? A teacher once said to me that the broadcast stations seem to mix the episodes up because Bart’s always been the same age. But there is one question about that. I’d like to know how old he is. He has been in 3rd or 4th grade ever since FOX debuted the show back in 1989. So he has to be at least 9-10 years old. And now Lisa seems to be at least 6-8 years old. And as you know, Maggie has always been one. Anyway, I wonder how long FOX has the show. Recently, we have learned that it will be on for two more years and they’re predicting that it’ll end in May 2005. So the show would have sixteen seasons. Wow! Then will it definitely becoming the longest running animated series ever? Over the years, many cartoons have had many episodes and many seasons. “The Smurfs” ran on NBC from 1981 to 1990 with over 230 episodes, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” was in syndication and on CBS with 193 episodes from 1988 to 1997. “Recess” has been on since 1997 on ABC. The 2001-2002 season was rumored to be it’s last season. We don’t think that any new episodes are longer being produced. The show had a total of 65 episodes (like many cartoons do) and if the show’s over, repeats are still on ABC? We know it’s a big Saturday Morning hit.. And like many cartoons, will “The Simpsons” ever have a movie? Anyway, Bart Simpson seems to be less popular as he was 10-13 years ago. I vaguely see kids around the block wearing Bart Simpson t-shirts. Mainly they have shirts featuring you know ho. Do you know who? He’s definitely a character in The Simpson family. And Bart hardly ever says “Eat My Shorts” and “Don’t Have A Cow Man” nowadays. And he doesn’t know how to “Do The Bartman” anymore. Was that just t-shirts or was it also a music video as well back in the early 1990s. Well, there was also some “Deep Deep Trouble”. And I’m predicting that on the final episode of the show, you know who will probably kick the bucket. And he’ll have a heart attack caused by alcoholism. And do you know who I happen to be talking about? I hope you do.. I’ll tell you who it is. H-O-M-E-R: Homer Simpson. “Oh Yeah! If You Can-Can, Do The Bartman, Shake It Out if You Can and You Can-Can! Do the Bartman yeah! That is so 1991. By the way, who said that and what episode was that from? PAST COLUMNS: Are ALL Toon Channels Going Downhill? I'm starting to hate the Simpsons now. They just go to every country in the world now because they're running out of episode ideas. And Homer just says a very put on 'Doh!' and people still laugh. The humor is kinda annoying now, they repeat all the old jokes so much they aren't as funny. However, if they end it with a movie, I'll see it. There are so many faults in the show though- because even though they don't age, it hasn't been the same year. Marge says Lisa was born in 1986 in an ep, and she's 8, so from 1994 Lisa's been 8. I think Bart did have one birthday, but is in the same class, and it is now past the year 2000 in the show, because homer screwed the celebrations up. Anyway- it should end finally with Marge being put in prison and taken to a very foreign country, cos she's not an american. She then escapes and gets home on a plane, gets to Springfield, whole big police fight. Kang and Kodos come down to abduct Maggie, blowing up Springfield, while Marge and the family hide in the Kwik E Mart underground shelter. But the police arrive, and the Simpsons and Apu drive away, jumping the creek, then getting away, Living in the Hills, or maybe not making the jump.
I dunno- most tv finales are no good, they can still be continued, in fact all can, it's just lots don't have new turning points (Spin City)- so the simpsons should end, for good. It's hard to give it a good but not sad ending. because the show is farfetched, like they moved the town once, rebuilt it lots etc, it's hard to officially end without a simpsons fan complaining about "But in episode no....." |

I've never seen a full episode of The Simpsons in my life. Bits and parts, yeah... but never a full episode I can recall.
But seriously, now...why don't they grow up? LOL. |

Jenny,
Are you sure about that? Have you ever watched TMNT, Inspector Gadget, The Littles, Mighty Max, etc? Any of my faves? - Brett Quote:
