Ugh, I did the same thing. How was it everyone? What did Henry talk about?

Yep, I knew he was that old when he did the show. You can't tell he's 27, but you sure can tell he's 38. It's kinda disheartening really. You have to watch such a cool guy grow old. I just found out last night (while reading a net site) that he got married when he was 33. I never knew he was that far into his career when he got married-- somehow I was thinking he was younger.

Talking He's the best!

I saw it after waiting and waiting.....

Anyway I already knew the whole being 27 thing, but I've never thought much about it. He did look good for a 38 year old though.

Besides he talked about all the things he's been doing lately and boy does that man work! He also has a great sense of humor and personality which always makes watching him fun.

I personally love him, even now when he's definitely not in his prime anymore, but he's still adorable as hell!

Hi College Girl, and everyone!

I did manage to tape the show, but after this I accidentally erased the end portion. The beginning was the best anyway. Henry was very charming and funny, nice to see him interviewed. I went through the tape and tried to get the highlights and the gist and flavor of the interview. Hope you find it interesting!

Pat said “Here is Fonzi all grown up.” They joke that he was at the time of the start of the show age 27 and got the job on his birthday, the show was on 11 yrs, he was then 38 when it ended. World’s oldest teen ever! Pat asks, Was there ever an incident when it hit you that this character would change your life. Henry says, they were in Dallas, in a shopping center, the "4 boys," Ron, Anson, Don and Henry. There were 25,000 people between us and the limo. "It was the only time I ever used the character off the soundstage." He imitated Fonzi and said, “you are gonna part like the Red Sea, there are 4 of us, and alot of you, but you will not touch a hair on our heads.” They just went zip (gestured) and let us pass. Henry says, "I am saying, 'ok ok it’s working.' But at home it’s 'Henry take out the gargbage.' ”

Pat mentioned Ron along with Henry, that Ron personifies what he was about to say about Henry. Which is that it is tough coming out of that sort of stardom, coming out of it like a real human being. Pat said it seems most of the HD people are like that. Henry said it starts with the people at the top, such as Garry Marshall. Related an incident with Garry when Henry was going out of town, Henry was anxious about the time and was interrupting Garry who was introducing some guest stars for the next show. Garry pulled him aside, put him against the wall, turned into a gorilla. Garry said who do you think you are, I am introducing your fellow players. Just wait your turn. Henry said he was right, absolutely was right. Said they were not allowed bad behavior on HD, and he hopes when he produces, that he does not allow bad behavior either, that this should not be part of process of making entertainment.

Pat mentioned a whole new generation is dicsovering HD. “It’s on 8- 12- 15 times a day, everytime I turn on the TV.” It is on in 126 countries. Henry said he is invited to homes of people for dinner everywhere he goes. Pat said the other thing Henry wears well, is…, then Henry jokes about his sweater, which is pinkish or mauve he says. Pat said Henry is good about the fact that you understand that the Fonzi role defines him. Henry says the role will be with him, it is part of his life, it is a compliment that people liked it, it was a great cast and he is proud of it. Mention of McGuyver. Henry says they are doing pilot for Young McG, nepherw of McG. Pat asks “What does producer do on a series?” Henry spoke re: Hollywood Squares. Says staff is an amazing group of people, he lets them do their jobs, he is the overseer, final arbitrer, trusting people is important. They work all week to prepare, and then tape 10 shows on the weekend. Pat asks what is harder, producing, directing, acting. Henry says producing because you never fix everything, never solve the problems. It’s like holding sand, you can never stop the drip. As for directing, you get to put the sand in a box. In acting you play in the sand.

This is as far as I got, Henry did talk a bit about his dyslexia, and about his children being in college. Hope Henry is on something else again soon.

Nice that he likes being asked to dinner!

Thanks for doing that PeggySue! I wished I had just put the tape in and recorded for a couple of hours, then I would have gotten it. Henry seems like a nice boss, I wish more were like him. When he was younger, I guess he wasn't as nice, because Marion once said, Henry would get angry and very rude and she told him she didn't like his attitude and didn't like him and Ron also had to talk to him along with Garry. So I guess he made an attitude adjustment. Now he's the nicest person in Hollywood.
