Default How old would Fred be today not Redd Foxx

Because Redd Foxx was much younger than the charater Fred Sanford
to the best of my knowleadge Fred should be in his upper 90's maybe 95 96 or 97

Well lets see here, the show started in 1972 and i believe they said he was 65 (pretty sure 65). So my guess would be 96 years old.

He was 65 in that episode, but in the final season, he was only 68 and Lamont was only 32. They never really explained how they didn't age.

They never made up their mind about the ages on the show. Lamont was about five different ages, none of which really went together (he started out 30, went to 34, then 32, then 37 or something like that.) I thought Fred's age stayed pretty constant though.

In the Superflyer episode,Fred is 66 years old(1973),in the episode where Esther and Woodrow fight and Esther stays at Fred's house,he says his own obituary,"born 1907, died 1975, from an overdose of ugliness",so he was 68 years old then.So Fred would be 96 years old today. Lamont's age was sealed in the episode "Libra Rising All Over Lamont" where in the family Bible it lists his birth as September 1940,but yet in the episode,"There'll Be Some Changes Made",Fred made mention of 1942 as Lamont's birth because Lamont asked him when was the last time you gave in to someone. So Lamont would be 63 years old in September.

in the second episode of sanford&son "happy birthday pop"
it was said that fred was 65 than was in 1972 so let me see if add can add correctly that whoud make him 96 yrs old.
by the way i loved that episode but something lamont kept overlooking was that it was fred's birthday he shoud have let him celebrate the way he wanted instead of taking him to fancy restaraunts and movies and buying him sweet drinks.lol
lamont always wanted to bring some class and culture to fred though. it did make for funny watching however.

Default I thought that too..

I also thought should have let Fred celebrate his birthday how he wanted.. I love the F.S. on the sweatband of the hat, Fred says, "I thought it stood for "For Sweating"

Cool that is all wrong

when redd foxx passed away in 1991 he was only 68 years old. so when the show started in 1972, fred was only 49 years old at the time, so which means if redd foxx was living today (2003), he would be 80 years old today.

the E! channel did a bio story on redd foxx two years ago and i remember watching this. the narrator says that fred was 68 when he passed away. i think that 96 years old is too high.
does anyone agrees with this?

I remember Fred mentioning along the lines of being born in December 1908, so if Fred was alive today, he will be 94 years old
