Portia De Rossi: This lovely lady won't be spending time around her favorite Senator on the tube much longer. De Rossi, currently seen on NBC's Mister Sterling in the recurring role of a Hollywood actress with politics in the blood and an eye for Josh Brolin, just signed with the Fox network to co-star with Jason Bateman in the comedy pilot Arrested Development. De Rossi has proven in the past that she can deliver funny lines with the best of them, especially when she was a featured player on Ally McBeal. Mr. Brolin will just have to get over his loss with somebody else on Capitol Hill.

It says on imdb that she's engaged to Ringo Starr's stepdaughter. I knew Portia was gay, not that there's anything wrong with it, but that was news to me.

I didn't even think she was gay..then again I never really heard of her before I saw some episodes of Ally McBeal.

I didn't know she was really gay. I remember seeing in the tabloids that she was gay, but you know how tabloids are. Well, that's cool. If Portia is really in love with her, I say go for it.

I'm fairly sure it's a man. She may have been resisting it or could be bisexual.

Portia De Rossi has never hidden the fact that she is a lesbian. I guess she flew in under the media radar beacuse she wasn't the star of "Ally" and she never did a grand "coming out" like Ellen DeGeneres or Rosie O'Donnell. Since "Ally" folded she has done numerous roles where she played a heterosexual woman, most notably the recent JFK Jr. TV movie, and her stint on "Mr. Sterling."
It sounds to me like she is willing to play it "straight" on TV, as long as they keep on offering her roles.

Hey, I don't care either way what she does in her private life, but she sounds like someone who wants to keep her personal life her own business, and not let her chosen lifestyle dictate what parts she plays on TV or in movies. She was great on "Ally," and she will bring class to whatever sitcom she decides to appear in.

I just wish it wasn't a sitcom with Jason Bateman. C'mon Portia! You can do better than that!
