Default Still the Beaver

Has anyone seen the movie called "Still the Beaver" ? It was supposed to be in 1980. I was wondering if everyone from the original was in it.
Thanks
Lucy

I've seen it! It did have most of the same cast members, except Whitey was played by a different actor (Ed Beagley Jr.), and Hugh Beaumont had already passed away. The movie was dedicated to his memory.

It must have been great to see Wally and Beaver all grown up.
I guess it must have been alot of flashbacks.
Did you tape this show? Or do you know anyone who might have a copy?
Thanks
Lucy

I remember seeing it too. I think it came out around 1982 or 83 though. The main thing I remember was Corey Feldman portraying Beavers older son but he didn't play him in the TV series. I didn't tape it for this was a little before VCRs became really popular.

The character of Mary Ellen was played by a different actress too.

I did manage to get a copy of Still the Beaver several months ago. It has a bunch of scenes cut out (mostly with Wally and Mary Ellen, I think), and the sound for the second half is so quiet you can barely hear, even if you turn the sound way up. But its better than nothing! I like it a lot, but I did wish they had Kipp Marcus instead of Cory Feldman. Kipp was much better.

One thing that surprised me about Still the Beaver was that Wally says "hell" and Beaver says "damn". Its realistic, but still a surprise.

I read somewhere that Miss Canfield made an appearance in the movie. I think now she's maybe a Mrs. In the show she took Mrs Rayburns place and was made principal. I saw the movie but I can't remember much about it other than seeing June at the cemetary. After seeing the old shows it would be nice to see the update.

Yeah, she did take Mrs. Rayburn's place, but the funny thing is, when the series started, she was a teacher again. Maybe in Mayfield, principals and teachers are interchangeable?

Anyway, there's a picture of her on this website from NLITB. She's the teacher in the first pic. Its really funny, in that episode, J.J. Rutherford passes a note to Kelly Cleaver that says "Miss Canfield's slip is showing", and she sees the note and admonishes the kids, but still tries to discretely yank up her slip. Its a funny change, because on LITB, she was so glamorous, and its funny to see her in that situation.

Default Still The Beaver

That movie was first aired on CBS in March 1983, 20 years after the show ended. Hugh Beaumont had recently died then, & I think the actor who played Whitey was a replacement. Other than that, I think everybody else was from the original cast! Richard Deacon, who played Lumpy's "daddy", has died since that movie was made. I have the entire movie as it aired on CBS that night.

I did see the movie and what i remember was June at the cemetary. I remember reaching for the Kleenex box when Hugh Beaumonts voice was reading a story that beaver had written. I felt sad seeing the movie. I agree the Motion picture with Little Cameron ??? was cute but many episodes from the show were jammed into the movie which made it only so so. But I didn't cry.

I could never see it the first time it aired because I wasn't even born yet (well, only by like 7 months, but you still can't watch TV when you're a newborn!) Anyways, I would love to see the movie. Wonder if they'll ever air it on TV again?

They aired it up until about 1990, I believe, when The New Leave it to Beaver was still in syndicated repeats. What they did was split the tv movie Still the Beaver into half-hour segments and aired those as the beginning eps.

I really think TVLand should air the Still the Beaver movie.
