Rod Roddy's Retiring From Price Is Right??? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

How is Rod Roddy,the announcer on the Price Is Right,is doing??? I hear that things aren't looking very good for him since Burton Richardson is announcing more frequently now. My question is this, will Rod Roddy retire after this year and hand over the announcing to Burton.I really will miss Rod if he decides to retire from the Price Is Right because of his cancer.

Um, no, Rod isn't retiring AFAIK. Burton was announcing back in November because Rod's cancer came back and he was out for more surgery/chemo/etc. This past week were reruns from that week, not new ones with Burton.

Rod is doing great now from what I've been hearing.

I don't think so. Fremantle has banned announcers from appearing on camera.

Forever, I suppose. Until the fans have a big uprising and the ratings diminish (which I doubt will happen), Fremantle will keep the things the way they are.
