Barney found a piece of metal under the blanket after Earnest T Was let go. Ernest T had been using that to pick the lock. Remember at the end of the show? Barney locked the jail door and then wasn't able to pick the lock with Earnest T's lockpicker. Then Barney and Andy had to holler for help, lol.
