Default How awesome was that?!?

OMG! They actually talked to Barbara on the preshow! She actually was ON STAGE! LOL!
Doris: Is this the Bachelor 3?
Barbara: Huh! In your dreams!
Classic! I loved it! I'm so glad they used her. And it was so sweet the way she said she wished Hugh Beaumont were there to see all of that!
The only thing I'm mad about is that LITB didn't get an award for SQUAT! I think LITB is more of a classic than most of the shows they honored. Oh well. I'm happy enough to overlook it. Another thing I enjoyed was Ray Charles singing the Designing Women Theme. I love that show. And you know the house they show for the exterior scenes? The one they had on the screen tonight? That house is not in Georgia or California, but in fact it's 20 minutes from my house in Little Rock, Arkansas. Yep. Linda Bloodworth Thomason, the shows creator, is from my home state. Yay! Ok, I'm way to hyper. Sorry I went on about stuff not even pertaining to LITB...Oh well.
Too bad they only showed Jerry one time. But go Barbara! Yeah, she's looking kinda old, but dang! She's in GREAT shape for 80! Wow. I read in that article about her she jogs every morning. I'm 19 and cant even do that! Ok, I'm really done now. So, what did you guys think of the awards?
I know mamafan was pleased! Lots of Mary Tyler Moore!

I'm SO glad TVland came up with this award show. I think its really great to honor the classics and, also just to have fun. Lots of these wonderful actors and actresses aren't invited to the Emmy's or Golden Globes and other award shows, yet viewers continue to enjoy their work today.

I'm also disapointed they didn't mention LITB, and we didn't see much of Jerry Mathers at all (even though Barbara was wonderful!!! ). Did you notice him at the very beginning of the pre-show though? He and his daughter were standing in the background. I wonder if they were the first to arrive! But this is what I'm thinking. Its the first ANNUAL TVland awards. They couldn't honor all of television it its first broadcast. Even as it is, the whole thing seemed very rushed (not to mention the pre-show! geez!). So I'm thinking and hoping that next year, they'll somehow honor Leave it to Beaver, especially Barbara Billingsley (come on, she's the best tv mom of all!!!) and especially Ken Osmond. Eddie Haskell is a classic. And of course Jerry!!!!!!

Amen to that tfic.
Just been to the happy days board. we're ranting and raving over there. we are all royally p.o. ed about HD and LITB not getting the recognition they deserved. I'm still pleased as punch they showed barbara so much. I would have been happier if she'd hosted the thing...but ya know...some things can just never be.

yep. i too was dissapointed about the lack of jerry footage. maybe he didn't want an active role in the awards...? Speaking of Jerry, I saw on his site that he will be in dallas, tx the same time as me! Maybe i'll see him...probably not...i think he's there for some health thing...that's his thing now...but still, I'll be within 20 miles of Jerry mathers on March 28...don't you wish you were me?

Last week he was in the city I go to school (except I'm not there this semester), but he's coming to Cleveland in May, so I'm really excited!!! I don't know if I'll be able to go see him, but it'll be cool to just be in the same city with the Beav!
