Default Checkpoints?

I live in Pennsylvania and our state has DUI checkpoints where they set up points to check every car that goes thru. They ask to see your d-licence and ins. cards what do you think of them? I think they are unconstitutional. Gestapo tactics

I don't see them as "Gestapo."

If you're not breaking any laws, then you shouldn't be afraid to go through one.

You're completely right. We'll just remove them and let the sober and drunk drivers through. It's not like they're gonna kill anybody...

You won't be detained if you're not breaking the law. Just minorly inconvenienced. ("Detained" means locked-up, as in put into jail or a paddy-wagon. )

Nor are DUI checkpoints in ANY way unconstitutional. Driving is a privilege, not a right. I suggest you read the Constitution and your DMV booklet again. You know that paper you signed when you got your driver's licence? You agreed to any drug testing an officer wishes to give you.

Alright. Then post right here where it says in the U.S. Constitution that your "right" to drive under the influence is protected, or that officers do not have the right to randomly drug test drivers.

Come on. Show me. Show me now. I'm waiting.

I'd like to see someone who compares a DUI checkpoint to Nazi Germany to prove me wrong.

Gestapo tactics.

No kidding. Meangya, the only people who should get pissed off by this is for those DUI. And, anyone who gets pulled over and theyre DUI, then they deserve it. Its their problem, not mine.

IM not saying you have the right to drive under the influence of anything. So dont try to twist it around to fit yor answer. Look in the bill of rights Amendment IV. Next it would be great to have police officers banging on our doors in the middle of the night to see if we paid our taxes.

But innocent people won't die if police officers don't go around banging on doors. Geez, is it that awful to stop driving for a bit so they can check if you're not drunk? It's not like they're trying to save lives or anything, they just want to hold people like you up so you can declare it to be "unconstitutional."

Amen. I much rather have a cop stop me and check me than to not be doing his job potentionally letting others drive under the influence.
