Default Argh! They cut it out!!!

I HATE when TVLand cuts out good scenes! Today in the episode about the Howells not really being married, they cut out the scene where Gilligan and Mary Ann help the Skipper practice the ceremony. That's one of the best scenes! ARGH!

OMG, I know! I hate that so much! Thank God I got the episode taped off of TBS a while ago.

Well, the Skipper has to remarry the Howells, right? So, Gilligan's helping him with the raft when: (this isn't verbatum...but I try)

MA: (off-screen) "Skipper! I'm ready. Are you ready, Gilligan?"
Gilly: "For what?"
MA: "To marry me!"
(Gilly gets scared)
Skippy: "Now, Gilligan, I haven't married anyone in a long time and I need the practice."
MA: "Oh, it's just pretend, Gilligan."
((Some lines here I forget))
(MA tries to hold his hand, but Gilly doesn't let her)
Skippy: "Now, Gilligan, do you take this woman to be your wife?"
(nothing)
Skippy: "Come on, Gilligan, just nod your head!"
(He nods, MA looks satisfied)
Skippy: "Mary Ann, do you take this man to be your husband?"
MA: (brightly) "I do!"
Skippy: "I now pronounce you husband and wife." (beat) "Well, don't just stand there, Gilligan, kiss the bride!"
(Gilly looks stricken)
MA: "Come on, Gilligan, it's just pretend."
(She puckers up and leans in; he backs up. He backs right off the platform and falls into the sand.)

The End. LOL. I screwed it up a little, but that's the jist of it. They look so cute up there together. MA really gets into it too - veil, flowers, the whole nine yards. So cute.

You did a good job describing it, Courtney, LOL. And I hadn't seen that episode for a while and watched it specifically to see that part, sigh. I didn't realize TVLand would cut it out.

There may be a fanfic in there somewhere--suppose the Skipper realized he had accidentally really married them, LOL. What would their reactions be? Hmmm......

Poor Gilly'd be so confused. Hee.

yeah...i'm bummed. but not as bummed as i'd be if i'd actually seen it before. if i've never seen it....i can't miss it. i know how you feel though....i was highly upset when i watched the movie one and saw that they cut out most of the kissing dialouge.....because i was totally looking forward to it since i had seen the episode on TBS years ago before i really became a fan.

Ah yes...I love that scene as well. But why did Gilligan have to go and fall off the platform? First time I saw that I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for them to kiss!
