What was Carol's quote at the end of this episode after the Bradys were about to launch the S. S. Brady? To me, it sounded like "And a draft ... aft!" with an unusual amount of silence between "draft" and "aft"--was it edited by N@N?

Am I right?

"And a draft, aft."

No, it wasn't editted. I was a reference to Bobby splitting his pants. They were the suit pants (that he washed in the washer) which had shrunk. He was going to wear them to go boating, but when he bent over they ripped.

I'm always amazed when writers and actors execute these types of funny lines. For some reason I can never say these things in the way that people would understand them as funny. I'm usually more like Jerry Lewis bombing as a comedian in The Patsy.

Yeah, "aft" is a term meaning "rear" or "behind."

I guess there was a pause so that the two words would not run together like "draftaft." Either that, or she paused for dramatic, comedic effect.

Besides, it would not sound very "Brady" for Carol to say, "Bobby has a draft on his butt!"

It's also a boating/sailing word referring to the rear of a ship.

Someone should write a scholarly commentary guide to the Brady Bunch episodes.
