My thoughts on MTV are: if the station is supposed to be about music, then shouldn't they be airing music videos and music-related programs?

Actually, I like MTV- they've made a few changes in the past year, including the addition of more video plays.
If you guys notice carefully, MTV airs video the entire night-time, daytime, TRL (4:00-5:00 p.m.,) Direct Effect (6:00- 8:00p.m., ?) PrimeTime Players, (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
The only reason why MTV airs other non-music shows is because they want to be diverse- a network that airs music 24/7 won't get a stable audience. MTV doesn't want to be a "only-music" channel, they want to be a source of entertainment, and real life shows for America's younger generation.
If you notice MTV only airs their non-music shows during 2:00-4:00, The 10-Spot, and weekends- which is the time most viewers are watching their programming.

Plus, I'm still a fan because I like watching, "The Real World," "Road Rules," "The Osbournes," "Big Urban Myth Show," "Cribs," and "Daria."

I remember the late 80's when my brother used to watch it... nearly all music videos. I think that's what it should be. But since all the music videos are today is sex, naked pop queens, rap, and drugs... I just ignore MTV.

But the Urban Myth Show is kind of entertaining. I like the Osbournes as well. But that's it.

MTV sucks at the moment. Hell, I take that back. It hasn't been a great station in a long time. They seriously need to bring back Beavis and Butthead.

I love the MTV shows like Real World and Battle of the Sexes. I think BET is better than MTV, if u just have regular cable, in videos..but I watch MTV2 and MTV Jams.
