I don't think they should.

It's pointless and it's just another delay to start the game.

No offense if I'm offending anyone by saying that. I like the song I just don't like it being played at Sporting Events.

I don't mind it. I think it's sort of a good tradition to have at sporting events. It only delays the game by around three minutes, I don't see why that would be a problem.

Congratz Karly!! I think it should be played before games. Like someone wlse said before, it only delays the game for about 3mins and its a good song jmo

Yes, it should be played.

I remember there was a whole big deal with it being played before a Sinead O'Conner show over 10 years ago, and she objected to that. People took offense to it, Un-American Irish bitch, etc., they all thought. But it did seem out of place to play it at a rock concert.

But whatever happened to Sinead, anyway...

I also remember when they brought out the Canadian maple leaf flag UPSIDE DOWN at a baseball game in Canada between an American team and a Canadian team (Blue Jays?)--it was the Americans who did this and it was a big mistake...

I don't know how ANYONE could get the idea that the leaf pointed downward. It seemed very disrespectful to the Canadian audience and showed American's ignorance. T.V. commentators were saying that if the AMERICAN flag were displayed upside down, there would've been hell to pay...

I think it should be played. It only annoys me when the screamer shrieks the "free" part at the end but it's always fun to cheer when the song is over. Game time!

I'm glad that its played, and yes I think it should be played... so the teams will know that they are playing for America, and that this is a great country, and everyone should be proud of the fact that the NATIONAL ANTHEM is sang.

Yes I think they should play it. It lets people stop and realize that they live in a great enough country that they can go to these games on their owe free will. It reminds people of how appreciative they should be and it is a very respectful thing t o do.

it doesn't really effect me since i rarely watch sports, but why not it's a tradition....
