Does anyone agree that Lamont became rather emotionless and stiff in the later episodes?There was just something different about him later on.

I think the reason for that is that the stories drifted away from him. After Fred "returned" from St. Louis, many of the stories did not include Lamont as much as previous seasons. If anything he played a straight man to Fred and their chemistry had been interrupted by Esther, Bubba, Grady, and other assorted "characters" a horse, an elephant, etc.

lamont seemed to have a far away look on his face and seemed kinda' depressed for some reason to me.
