Question High School Exit Exam

Does anyone have to take a high school exit exam in order to graduate high school? Or did anyone take this test?

I'm taking it this week on Tues, Wed, and Thurs. The first two days are English and then Thursday is math, which is Algebra 1 and 6 and 7 grade math. It's so easy and stupid. One of the problems in a practice booklet for it is:
3x=12 what does x equal?
Sophmores have to take it. If you don't pass it the first time, you have two more chances. If you don't pass it or don't take it, you don't graduate.

We have a similar test that sophomores here take in september.. its ridiculously easy. Especially the math.. 3/4 of the math section was percents.

My state has one. It's called the TAKS Test. It's actually pretty hard sometimes though.

We had to take the EMCAST test.. but my year (2002) was the last class that wasnt required to pass them in order to graduate. Hell, I didnt even take my SAT's.

Yep, took the writing part of the test in 10th grade and the rest in 11th grade. Good luck on the tests!

I think its stupid that its a graduation requirement. I couldve failed even though Im a good student, but some deadbeat could pass and graduate.

So true.

Some people are just really bad test takers. I swear I do not consider myself smart. I had to really study my ass off to get the grades that I made. I hated taking tests and I just wasn't that great at taking tests unless I really studied for it. Even then I would go blank for some tests.

Yeah, I do agree with you, Crystal. A good student could fail the test and not graduate and a slacker can pass it and graduate. It's just insane how the school system works.
