Talking 4 Step By Step Questions

here are 4 Step By Step Questions....

1. Did Suzanne Somers cause any trouble behind the scenes?

2. Was there ANY, if any, problems behind the scenes?

3. How did it do in the ratings?

4. Why was it cancelled?

I do not know the answers to 1 and 2.

3. By the end of the 5th season, its ratings were very low. ABC did bring it back for a mid-season run in 1997 for a sixth season which they entended to be the final season. However the episodes did bring in decent ratings, but ABC cancelled it anyway. CBS had already agreed to buy Family Matters from ABC because ABC was planning on cancelling Matters in 1997. When they heard Step by Step had been cancelled by ABC they decided to make a deal to get Step By Step as well. It worked Step By Step moved to CBS for the 1997-1998 season along with Family Matters. So CBS created the Friday Night Block Party to go up against ABC TGIF. The lineup had in eastern times 8:00 Family Matters 8:30 Meego 9:00 Gregory Hines 9:30 Step by Step. The only problem was this lineup was a ratings disaster. CBS thought Meego would be a huge hit because it stared Bronson Pinchot who dominated the TGIF lineup in Perfect STrangers in the late 80s and early 90s. Meego would only make it 3 episodes when it debuted. It was very Corny. The other shows were also slipping, so CBS decided to make the Block party one-hour featuring Family Matters and Gregory Hines rotating with Step By Step every other week at 8:30 pm. By December 1997, the ratings on Gregory Hines were so low, it was officially cancelled. CBS decided to bring Family Matters and Step By Step back for a final run in the early summer of 1997. Step by Step finished its run out in June 1997 at 9:30 eastern.

4. It was cancelled due to the fact CBS did not come through with their Friday Night lineup of new comedies, In my opinion it should have ended 2 years before.

Meego was putrid. That little Jerry McGuire kid was on it I think.

Gregory Hines Show just wasn't funny. Then they thought "maybe if he dances"....and the scene went on for like 10 mintues. Bye.

I loved Step By Steps final couple of years. The kids were older so the stories were more grown up. Plus the girls got GORGEOUS. And the storylines weren't bad for a harmless Friday night show.

1)No

2)Sasha Mitchell and his personal problems which became a distraction

3)The ratings were decent until the end of season 5. It was downhill from there.

4)Step by Step was moved to CBS in 1997 and the ratings were not as good as hoped even though the ratings were not all that bad.

I think she didn't because she probably didn't to happen to her while being on Step By Step that happened when she was on Three's Company

I wish that Sasha's personal life didn't get in the way of his career on the show

I think the ratings were good until Cody was gone

Rich didn't do good as a replacement for Cody

I like John Cena. I'm a mix of Sasha and John. If I was older, I would have tried out for the Cody role.
