I have never posted on this web site before, though I have glanced through it a number of times. I'm posting a message because I am wondering if anyone of you knows if Nick at Nite (or anyone for that matter) ever plans to show the first season of Charles In Charge? The Pembroke episodes are my favorites. I know that I am not the first person to ask this question; I was just wondering if anyone now knows for sure of the fate of those first season shows.

For some reason the very first season is excluded from the Nick at Nite rotation. I am sure it has to do with contractural reasons. Bummer. |

Yah, it is a bummer. I hope that in May when the contract is up, that Nick only renews it if they agree to show the Pembroke episodes as well. If not, sell Charles In Charge to a station that will show the first season, because that is the real Charles In Charge. It is not that I dislike the Powell episodes, because I don't, I just liked the Pembroke episodes better. I think that Charles had a special bond with Lila, Douglas and Jason which he didn't really have with Jamie and Adam. Of the Powell kids, only Sarah had a real bond with Charles. I also think the writting was a bit smarter first season. Michael Jacobs, the creator of Charles In Charge, I believe quit the show at the end of the third seson because he felt that the quality of the writing had dropped. Also I think the Pembroke episodes are best because the first season of Charles In Charge aired on CBS when I was in third grade, and along with Family Ties, it was the first show-not counting cartoons and that sort of stuff-that I ever watched. So I sort of have a connection with those early shows. Yah, I think that the Pembroke version of Charles In Charge is along with All in the Family and Family Ties, the greatest sitcom ever, and I would love to see those episodes again.

I didn't like the Pembroke kids. They were overly annoying, and immature-- especially the kid that always wore than darn stupid mask.
