Guys,
The best Brady Bunch episodes were those that had a semi-realistic focuss to them and weren't boggled down by slap-stick. What made the Brady Bunch the cult icon it is and gave it the respect it so richley deserves is when you got past the "slapstick silliness" of some of the the first season episdes. Robert Reed, and his friend Tam Spiva, who composed some of the finest writings for the series are to be commended. All due respect to series creator Sherwood Schwartz of course, but if it hadn't been for Robert Reed, The Brady Bunch would have had a lot more "Skip Farnam" material than most could stand!!! I ask of the board to pick your top 3 episodes of the series in terms of quality of writing/content. Here are mine: 1. Bobby's Hero (a.k.a "Jessie James episode") 2. Her Sister's Shadow (a.k.a "Jan tired of being compared to Marcia") 3. The Dropout (a.k.a "Greg's obsession with baseball") Jack |

Wow--I'm going to have to think on this awhile! I like so many of the episodes, I'd have a hard time choosing.
BTW, I LIKE the Skip Farnum episode! I don't know exactly WHAT it is about it that I like, but I think it is funny! I guess I just like the way that "Meer-na" screws them over by giving them bad acting lessons. And then, after Skip calls the whole thing off, it's hilarious when he says, "You know, this whole thing reminds me of that time we worked with...." and the other guy says, "Mer-na" and Skip replies, "Yeah! THAT'S the nut!" |
