lol--

I've been knocking the last few seasons a lot lately--their possible motives for moving the show in different directions and whatnot. But I do like Nancy. I found it believable and even clever how she was introduced to the show. But she wouldn't have existed if it weren't for Nellie, "The Original Rotten Girl."

Nellie, baby. Nancy was too whiney. She didn't have Laura to fight against. Nellie was more evil. Life was good then.

Nellie has a more evil way about her because her vindictiveness would be concealed by her superficial sweetness whereas Nancy is just so hystercial you know she is a real mess. Although she could put on the charm as well, it was not done as convincingly as Nellie. Of course anyone with sense could be able to see through Nellie as well.

Nancy's actions, however, are far more evil, infact very scary at times. I never thought Nellie did anything terribly dangerous. Nancy almost killed Belinda by locking the girl in the icehouse! Charge that little ----- with attempted murder!

Nellie, due to better writing and Alison Arngrim's brilliant (and I do mean brilliant) performance. What other pre-teen could play the role like that?

Nancy was just a whiny clone who couldn't hold a candle to the original bad girl of the prairie, Nellie. Nancy didn't seem nearly as clever as Nancy -- everyone saw through her act right away.

Nellie easily! She should have won an Academy Award for her performance. Nellie knew how to turn on the "charm" and displace "false niceness" when she wanted to do so! Nancy was just evil all the time to the point of overkill and was brought in just to replace Nellie. (But no one could replace Nellie!) Nellie was just so much more cleaver and whitty. Nancy was just a vicious little beast ALL THE TIME! Nancy reminds me of Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. I mean Julie Dawn Cole who played Veruca was brilliant in that role. (She wasn't like that in real life at all) However, Veruca like Nancy was like the female anti-Christ from The Omen movies. Nancy was "margerine" compared to Nellie's "butter" and it showed! Nancy IMO was just a little too "Over The Top" mean.

I liked Nellie better. I thought it was stretching things a bit when they brought Nancy onto the show.

Nellie easy! Nancy just plain got on your nerves. And besides Nancy was just a made up character no in the book.

Actually, I like both of them pretty well, but Nellie would have a little edge in my opinion. She was the original nemesis of the Ingalls' kids, and made the role so popular that the show would've never been the same in her absence. So really she paved the way for Nancy to be brought in to fill those shoes.

Nellie. She was really mean at first, but toward the end after she had matured somewhat and she grew up,the character was a little more palatable, and compared to the bratty Nancy, who was like the flip side of Nellie, and unlike Nellie, was just a spoiled brat who never outgrew her brattiness. And notice that she WASN'T in the finale, nor was any mention made of the character.Whatever became of the actress who Nancy?

Cool

Nellie!!! But I did attend a LHOP fan event in Tombstone, AZ, which featured a good number of the surviving cast members. Alison Arngrim (Nellie) and Allison Balson (Nancy) even had their own Q & A Panel - "The Nasty Oleson Girls". It was a riot - especially when Alison took out two curly blond wigs from a shopping bag and the ladies wore them, posing for pictures. The crowd went wild!!

Also, Allison Balson has become a folk singer/songwriter/guitarist. She performed a song she had written in honor of Michael Landon entitled "My Friend". Ironically, the date was July 1, 2005 - 14 years to the day of his passing. Allison is very, very petite. She can't be much more than 5'2" and when I shook her hand, it was so tiny mine almost engulfed hers!!

Both "Oleson sisters" in real life are very sweet and approachable.

Wow, Alison A. looks so "Nellie" in that last picture. Like she just stepped out of the show.
