Post How can you tell if you are being flirted with?

I was just in a shop and the sales assistant seemed really , really friendly, saying that she thought she recognised me from somewhere before ( i never recognised her), she was hot though, you know sometimes you get that vibe.
i think i'll go back to that shop, same time, next week,

She was probably flirting. But, I'm so absent-minded that I never know when someone is flirting. My friends are always the ones pointing it out to me. Like, my cousin, her fiance, and me went out to dinner a couple nights ago. The waiter comes to our table and is like, "You weren't in class today." I was thinking, "Busted!" but we continued to talk. Then after he walked away, Mike was like, "He seemed to have really taken notice that you weren't in class. He must've missed you. " I was like, "Huh? I've never even talked to him before. How could he miss me?" After a bit of explaining on their part, I was like "Ooohhh!"

I think it has a lot to do with body language, eye contact, and hidden innuendos. Two people can say the exact same thing with very different meanings behind them.

I have no experience in this area, as flirter or the one who's being flirted with, but it does sound like she had a thing for you.

I think it kinda has to do with what you mentioned in your post, that certain little "vibe". You can just sorta feel it in your bones lol It's not a foolproof way of telling though. Some people just have flirty personalities, while others sometimes don't even realize something they've said can be construed as flirtatious by someone else.

Yeah, I think that's the key - it's not so much what is said but the way it's being said.
Nice one mate. I think you might have a chance with this chick. You should definately shop in that store more often!

You have a good point there.
A lot of women (now I'm not bashing the gals here) flirt so much that they can't turn it off; or don't realize they're doing it. So you may think she's really into you, but it might be nothing.

Believe me, I've seen it before.

I think you just described me...

While it sounds like she may be interested (and I'd say def go back to the shop if you have that "vibe" about it!) Sometimes a girl doesnt know shes flirting or its just her personality. I know my definition of normal or just being nice is mis-interpreted as flirtation sometimes- which isnt the best situation.

Yeah, that's true. I've met a few women like that. They were acting all interested and I was thinking "hell yeah - I'm in here!" Then they turn round to someone else and act the exact same way and I realise that is just the way they are!
It's pretty frustrating actually - so all you females that act that way, I want you to know how crazy that can make people!!!

I can tend to flirt with people I feel comfortable with as friends and not expect anything from it. I've flirted with lots of people just because flirting is fun and I'm pretty sure it's not going to become anything more than flirting (I know the person well enough to know). But, when I suddenly become blatantly aware that I'm actually crushing on someone, I tend to become super shy and reserved. This can be so confusing to so many people. I can be friends with someone and be fine, but when I discover I like that same person I stop talking. Of course, they mistake being shy with being a snob. I start obsessing over little things like acting like a fool in front of them or saying the wrong thing or whatever.

I do have one of those friends who is a super flirt and I'm not even sure she knows that she does it. I watch and marvel at her. There's no way I could be brave enough to do that.
