In the season 8 opening, how come at the end it shows Jenny, Joanie, Fonzie, Chachi and Roger? And Roger hadn't arrived yet. Did anyone else notice this?

I noticed it. He appears walking with Fonzie. He appears 3 episodes later though.

Aw, they ruined his entrance. Now I won't be able to fully grasp or care for his character...oh well.

I guess they didn't feel like having adif opeing sequence for just 2 or 3 eps. Like most shows, I pretty sure everyone knew he would be on at the time and there was no surprise really. How many times have looked at a preview of a show and they tell you about a new character coming on that season?
