Default "Real Time With Bill Maher"

"Real Time With Bill Maher" makes its debut tonight at 11:30 on HBO. The format will be similar to that of "Politically Incorrect." The main difference, however, is there will be one less panelist and the show will be one weekly hour instead of five weekly half hours. You can watch a trailer for it on hbo.com.

I missed the first half hour. I'm glad that he's back on TV. Only now he and guests will have a clear shot at saying what they think. Since I missed the beginning I don't know why he chose to have Ann Coulter as one of the guests. But toward the end of the show Ann was promoting her book like she does every chance she gets. She was saying something about how she made the case for GWB being an intellingent man. Bill maher, in all seriousness, said to her, "You just make shilt up. That's what you do, you just make shlt up." And the crowd went wild with applause and cheering lol.

Ann Coulter was a frequent "Politically Incorrect" panelist, so needless to say, she'll be a frequent "Real Time" panelist.

My favorite part was Chris Rock's surprise appearance. Wow, he was pissed that Coulter could even say out loud that Bush "earned" his spot at Yale. And his dig at Jimmy Kimmel was pretty funny, too.

And I love Sarah Silverman, but her routine yesterday made me a little uneasy, even though I know the point she was trying to make.

Still, a great show all around. I'll be tuning in every week. It's just too bad we've lost "Dennis Miller Live."

Let me end this post with some words of wisdom from Ms. Coulter:

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war."

How profound. And non-evil. Not evil at all.

Excuse me while I go puke.

I'm glad that Bill Maher is back. I think he got a raw deal with Politically Incorrect. He was swept up in the tide of overzealous patriotism following 9/11 and his words were twisted.
Ironically, he lost PI for being politically incorrect.
