Default Robert Stack should write a book

I think Stack should write a book, a personal in-depth book revealing what it was like to cover all these cases over the years, which ones affected him the most, etc. The show seems to keep him as IMpersonale as possible, like he's just stating the facts. He's getting up there in age and should write it NOW before he gets too old. I would love to hear what he has to say.

Cool Terrific idea!

I know that Robert Stack wrote a book back in 1980, which was his autobiography "Straight Shooting". I have the hardcover edition of the book and it's awesome (I'm still trying to finish reading it). But I would like to see another book from him, this time on hosting UM. The show's been on since 1987 and surely, there's a lot he has to say on the cases that have been profiled. I remember reading the Lifetime chat transcript from June 2002 and he mentioned how the then-unexplained deaths of race car driver Micky Thompson and wife Trudy affected Stack.
You can read more about Stack's POV on the Micky Thompson case, along with other things he talked about, at the link below:

Amercia's Most Wanted host John Walsh wrote such a book called "No Mercy" in 1998, discussing the AMW cases that meant the most to him. So I think it would be cool if Robert Stack followed suit.

Personally, I'd really like to see a book printed on UM cases. Besides, there are countless UM cases stick in my mind that I'd like to see discussed in a possible UM book.

I was unaware that Stack had written any book at all but thatnks for the FYI, I will try to get that book. I read both of John Walsh's books and they were great! Well, if Stack dosent write one, maybe Keeley Shay Smith will?? Still, it wouldnt be the same.....

Smile Speaking of "Straight Shooting"...

I have an excerpt from Robert Stack's autobiography on my website. It's at the link below. Just look under "Anecdotes" and you'll see it. The excerpt I put is a very interesting one. Let's just say that although Stack's voice creeps out viewers at times on UM, something creeped him out when he was 6.

Something else I wanted to point out (my apologies if this has already been talked about):

http://www.imdb.com/EGallery?source=...tack,%20Robert

That's a picture at the IMDb of Stack in 1939, with Deanna Durbin. I'll admit I think he's always looked handsome, but I'd be lying if I said he wasn't VERY good looking in his youth as well!!!

Cool Cool picture

I remember seeing that photo on that site. I did a double take upon seeing it because he looked completely different. Yet, he looked quite handsome then and he's still handsome now. I know that photo was from the 1939 Cinderella-esque movie "First Love" and Stack was 20 years old (!) when he made his feature film debut there. It was also in that film that Deanna Durbin received her first screen kiss from Stack (now that's a debut!)

Hey...start a new thread with that idea...I want them to find someone equally as mysterious and serious as Stack.

I personally think that I should be the one to replace Robert Stack. If I don't end up liking my other career, I can easily see myself doing what he does. Just kidding of course.
