I scanned the message board, particularly the threads regarding the scariest or most memorable segments, but could not find a mention of this one. I'm fairly certain I saw it on UM (AMW, perhaps?) many years ago, likely early to mid-'90s. It spooked me more than any other, and perhaps someone remembers it and can fill in the details (name, location, update?). I have never seen it replayed on Lifetime:
A young woman was being held captive, but apparently escaped from her abductors at night when their vehicle was very close to a cemetery, in a rural area. Her body was found near a fence that surrounded the graveyard, and in the direction of the only nearby home, which likely would have been lit at night and the only potential and desperate safe haven. The ground in the cemetery was soft and muddy enough that footprints and other marks could easily be seen and evaluated upon daylight. Investigators studied them, and believed the girl tried in vein to elude her captors, even kneeling behind the large headstones. Authorities theorized that she eventually ran toward the farmhouse, but didn't see the fence or another overhead obstacle, and struck her head, becoming easy prey. Well, I wasn't planning much sleep tonight anyway. |

I remember seeing this case on UM on Lifetime a few months ago. It's saddening that the girl died while attempting to escape her abductors.
Was this case solved?-Makoto_4 |

Was this the case where the cops believed that she had almost gotten away but she had been running and not seen and bumped into a chain link fence causing her to fall, thus causing the muderer(s) to catch her?

This case hasn't been solved but her bfs (although kinda ruled out himslef as a suspect) ghetto friends are still suspects and have refused polygraph tests. I read up on this besides seeing this on UM.

Thats strange that her friends wont take polygraphs. Have you read wether the cops believe it was someone she knew or not? If a youth did this there is a very good chance they will eventually be caught b/c of "talking"........

What probably happened was that the girl was raped at the party but other indivudal(S) ((friends of the b/f and possibly the culprits) but died being chased by the culprits who were also at the party.
Naturally dna evidence cleared the b/f but that doesnt mean he wasn't involved or an accomplice. As I stated above, she was probably raped by other indiviuduals. The chase that killed her was probably orchestrated by her b/fs friends... I dont really see this as being an "unsolved mystery". This is lackluster work on the police departments area for not wishing to question the party-goers, insist her b/f take a poylgraph, and do more dna testing. |
