Did Ringo even have any good solo albums? I consider Ringo just to be lucky... he didn't really contribute anything to the music, just gave the band some personality by being the simple guy.

Well, "Ringo" is a pretty good album. John, Paul, and George all contributed. Download the song "I'm The Greatest" if you get a chance. John wrote it for Ringo and sings backup vocals.

Interesting - not only is there an album up there that hasn't yet gotten released, but said album also has one vote.

Isn't there a version that John does on the Lennon Anthology?

Yeah. It's John and his band laying down a demo for Ringo. "Only You" and "Goodnight" Vienna," are also demos for Mr. Starr. "Nobody Told Me," I'm told, was intended to be a Ringo song, as well.

Sorry to admit, I have never heard of any of these albums!
But I do really like a couple of his songs! ;
Photograph
It Don't Come Easy

Also his Beatles solo's;
Honey Don't
Boys
Act Naturally
What Goes On

I'll throw out this question now;
Do you think that Ringo was underrated? He certainly didn't get the publicity that the others got. I never paid him much attention I'm sorry to say!

No, certainly not underrated. He's a good drummer, and a great guy, but the other three guys are much more talented as songwriters, singers, and overall performers.

Unfortunately, Ringo doesn't have any albums that I would consider "essential," but there are several songs I recommend to all Beatles fans (fire up KaZaA, folks).

It Don't Come Easy
Early 1970
Photograph
You're Sixteen
No No Song
Goodnight Vienna
Oo Wee
Only You (And You Alone)
Back Off Boogaloo
I'm The Greatest
Weight Of The World
La De Da
Love Me Do (yes, he covered his old band in 1998, and his version is rather catchy)
Christmas Time Is Here Again (yes, he covered his old band a second time in 1999; also catchy).

I don't think he was underrated.. he just never got as much attention as the other Beatles. He's recieved much more attention than many other decent musicians. He was a good drummer and all, just not great, which was probably exactly what the Beatles needed. They didn't need someone over-drumming in their songs.
