Default So he wants to change her?

Do you think Carter backed out of asking Abby because of what she said about people never really changing?

Am I the only one on the board who detests their relationship? When he put the ring back in his pocket, I cheered!

I definitely think Carter backed out because of what was said about people never really changing. I hope he never forgets that either, and saves that ring for someone more worthy! I'm sorry, to all you who are pulling for the relationship, but I don't think Abby is worthy.

I agree with you. I can't stand Abby and I think Carter deserves so much better.

What are you crazy? Since when did the writers think it was okay to turn this show into a refined soap opera (and I'm being generous using the word "refined!")? They must be so desperate to find matches for everyone, the only person left for Carter WAS Abby! So, there were a few other gals he could have ended with... who cares?! I'm sick to death of this show revolving around who's bedding whom and only showing patients that are relavant to their current melodramtic story line.

I agree. I still love the show, but I really don't care for the direction that the show is going in. I was watching a couple of the first season episodes this week on TNT and I thought the show was much better back then.

Yes, me too. I've seen the first season episodes on TNT lately and that has a lot to do with why I have been so hard on the 9th season lately. Of course, I'm still watching every Thursday, and I'm still hooked so I should just except the fact that it's been on 9 years and it has become vulnerable to change. On my profile I wrote that it already jumpedtheshark, but I still list it as one of my favorite shows.

Still want Carter to dump Abby-the-Drip! (Hey, this is a thread about Carter and Abby, so I had to add something about them.)

Carter is my least liked member of the original cast, and Abby is all too often dull.

Best male lead-Romano (did he join 1996 or 1997?)
Best female lead-Corday....Hathaway could be fun, but sometimes, ych...

It's always been a major part of the storyline that the doctors get together-Mark and Susan from the start, Carter and everyone, Doug and Hathaway...Even before Mark and Corday, Carter and everyone, Chen and Pratt, and my hilarious idea of Weaver and Romano

You're right. And I didn't mind relationships since the show had them from the beginning. I think now they have gotten out of hand though... partly because I think Carter and Abby together is out of hand. We all know I loathe that pair-up.

Carter is my favorite from the original, along with Ross. If memory serves, Abby started off okay, although I found her a lame excuse for a Hathaway replacement. Now, Abby is clearly a downer. Oh well, I still watch every week. (I have to get lucky one of these days and see Carter kick her to the curb. )
