Wink The questions of Gilligan's Island

GI has alot of questions without explinations
I made even made a list:

1.What were the Howells doing on that little boat?If they were so rich then why didn't they buy their own boat or go on a bigger boat.

2.Why did The Howells and Ginger and Mary Ann have all that clothes? It was a three hour tour why would they need all that clothes.

3.Why didn't Gilligan,The Skipper, and The Professor ever change their clothes? If everyone else had clothes why didn't they?Did they have alot clothes that looked exactly the same?

4.Why did the Howells bring a big box filled with money?

5.What was Gilligan's last name? Was Gillgan his last name?

6.How come they found so many things in the lagoon?Radioactive vegtables,Movie costumes, and so many other things?

7.Why did the Professor have so many different books for a three hour tour?

8.How did they keep a radio alive for so many years without bateries?

Can You think of anymore or any answers to the questions?

Question

How about the fact that there are how many billion people in the world, and yet Gilligan, Mr. Howell, and Ginger all meet their exact twin?

In some episodes Mr. Howell says he's been married for 15 years while later he says he's been married for 20. Is it because the last 5 years where shaky?

Cool

Ok , these are fun questions, I want to try some.

1.What were the Howells doing on that little boat? If they were so rich then why didn't they buy their own boat or go on a bigger boat.

Novelty. Sheer novelty.

2.Why did The Howells and Ginger and Mary Ann have all that clothes? It was a three hour tour why would they need all that clothes.

The old stereotype of women overpacking. They probably had 20 different outfits just in case they met a cute guy on the 3 hour tour and had to decide which looked best for any situation. The Howells - overprovileged novelty. <G>

3.Why didn't Gilligan,The Skipper, and The Professor ever change their clothes? If everyone else had clothes why didn't they?Did they have alot clothes that looked exactly the same?

The old stereotype about men underpacking?

4.Why did the Howells bring a big box filled with money?

The Howells were always pretty inappropriate with their money. I imagine they thought they would overtip anyone and everyone they met, or perhaps even buy a nice piece of island real estate they spied from the boat.

5.What was Gilligan's last name? Was Gillgan his last name?

I think it was mentioned that his name was suposed to be Willy Gillian, but it was never brought up in the show.

6.How come they found so many things in the lagoon? Radioactive vegtables,Movie costumes, and so many other things?

Environmental irresponsibility, even back then. How sad.

7.Why did the Professor have so many different books for a three hour tour?

I'm sure a genius like him could read a novel a minute. I know my mom can read a giant Stephen King book in a few measley hours.

8.How did they keep a radio alive for so many years without bateries?

Didn't they mention something about Professor manufacting natual power out of something stupid, like coconut juice. LOL. I don't remember, but it seems something was mentioned.

Can you think of anymore or any answers to the questions?

It still makes me really sad to thing of those poor people stranded for all those years. Man, that's just realy sad.

I've got a question though that I can't remember. How far did they end up being from Hawaii?? We made a little GI fic for our website awhile back, and it seems I had to make something up for it because I couldnt find it in the search engine.

Wonderful qwuestions you made, lots of fun!

Answers to previous questions: they are 200 miles south/southeast of Hawaii. The Professor recharges the batteries with salt water.

Okay, how about the fact that Mary Ann sings beautifully with the Honeybees, but once she thinks she's Ginger she can't carry a tune?

The Prof, Gilligan and Skipper do have more than one shirt each, but they all look alike, because whenever they're doing the laundry you can see them washing their clothes and wearing them.

And why is a high school teacher called Professor?

Thumbs up

That's not fair, it's fun to think about how many things are unexplained and maybe guess about them. It's not ruining the show, the fact that we all spend our time on a GI message board should say something about how much we like the stupid show despite its discrepancies.
