Why did Emma leave? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Was just curious why Ari Meyers left the show? Or if she ever gave any interviews or there was any information about it at the time?

I know on the show the character Emma left to live with her father and attend college near him (UCLA i think?).

she was mia for half of the 5th season then she was taken off the credits after the 5th season

I thought Ms. Meyers entered Yale university as a full-time student in 1987 and that's why she disappeared from the K@A cast.

I've also wondered why she was so highly billed in the credits also...you see the two stars, then directly after that "Ari Meyers" with the others kids last. It always striked me as a little odd she was so prominently billed but really wasn't in the show that heck of alot to begin with...
