I finally got to see this episode!!!! I remember last time this episode rolled around, everyone was talking about "Mary Tyler", and I didn't even know this episode existed!!!! Somehow I've always seemed to miss it, and I wasn't even aware. At any rate, this episode was so good!!!! I felt SO bad for Beaver!!! He and Mary seemed really cute together. It was so adorable how they just walked into the kitchen together and then went upstairs to play Monopoly. Beaver seems to be quite the "operator", as Wally put it!!! I think Wally was much more shy when he was Beaver's age. It was so funny how he was greasing up his arms with after-shave lotion. What was that all about?? LOL
Now I've seen almost every single episode!!! I still haven't seen Captain Jack though! |

OMG! I love this episode! I especially like the part where Ward and June are joking around about Ward's past loves. And June is like "Where did I come in?" And Ward says "Oh, you were about 14th or 15th give or take one love." I love that scene!

Yeah, I think this is a really good ep. I love seeing Beav's awakening, yet oh so innocent interest in girls. And, come on, who wouldn't fall for dreamy older Wally. I love how Mary jumps out from behind a tree!
But Beav is much cuter every time I see the fifth season. While it's true Wally is completely dreamy and much prettier, Beaver does have kind of an edge to him that girls love. Girls are always telling Beaver he's cute and he just seems to not even be phased by it. Great stuff! |

Both Cleaver boys are quite attractive but in different ways, just like their personalities are so different. I love both Wally and Beaver, they're real neat!

I love this ep too! It's kind of funny that they put the character "Mary Tyler." Because, every time I watch it, I think, "Where's the 'Moore'?"

Well, I'm glad you finally got to see the episode with Mary Tyler that you've been hearing about. It is another great one. There are many times in the show that it reminds me of my childhood.
I love the scene where Beaver and Mary are promising not to walk home with anyone else. They "shake" on it, and Beaver gets that first "true feeling" for her. It reminded so much of being that age and my first experiences with the opposite sex. I haven't seen the show in quite awhile, so my quotes might not be 100% accurate, but I love how Beaver introduces Wally to Mary and is bragging about his older brother. He even asks Wally to make a muscle for Mary. Then after Beaver finds out that Mary has "flipped" over Wally, Beaver changes the whole introduction around. He says something like, "Wally came in and was showing off, bragging about how good a baseball player he is, making muscles and everything!" Another couple of funny lines in that episode that I like is when Mary comes out from behind the bush and wants to walk to school with Wally. Wally tells her that he is too old for her. Mary replies something like, "I can't help it, I like you, like my sister likes Tony Curtis."...... and Wally later says, "Mary, I'm just trying to stop you from looking like a dopey little girl." Then I love how the scene ends when Mary stomps her foot at Wally. --- Great scene. |

I remember when Beaver passed a "Drop Dead" note to Mary in class.
