What is the name of that song Fred sings on every episode of Sanford and Son? I know how it goes, but I'm not sure what the words are. Does anyone have an idea?

Makes sense. On that episode where Lamont went to the psychiatrist for his headaches, the psychiatrist got Fred to look into those inkspots, and he started to sing the song. Thanx. Now all I needed to know what were the words to the song.

It goes, "Or could I be sure that it is love beyond compare". I looked that up on the Internet last night

I like the episode when he thinks that he has Frank Sinatra's ring that was stolen(later on they find out Rollo bought a fake ring) and he is waving it around singing that song. Hilarious

"If I Didn't Care" by the Ink Spots charted at #2 in 1939. Fred mainly sang the opening and closing lyrics of the song which were:
If I didn't care more than words can say If I didn't care would I feel this way? And would I be sure that this is love beyond compare? Would all this be true if I didn't care for you? |

I'm surprised I got the name of the song right. I just took a guess and said that was the name because I always heard Fred say "IF I didn't care" |
