Default TvLand editing out a lot of funny scenes please respond

Why in the world has Tvland edited out so many funny scenes lines from Sanford & Son reruns because it might have a Politically incorrect or racist word in it.

I dont agree with racism or racist words but sometimes the big N word was used in the show by Foxx and other cast members to get a laugh and I see nothing wrong with that

But Tvland did and took out alot of funny lines just because of this one word. Tvland needs to leave the old shows like they were when they were first aired please post responses Thanks in advance

Default editing

i hate tv land. i keep it on a lot because there is not much else to choose from. but they keep editing out so much to be able to keep showing thier own horn tooting promos. it, like most other channels do nothing but fill their comercial time up telling us how good they are and promote upcoming shows. now really, do i need an onscreen promo come on all day to tell me when andy is coming on? and then at about 6:50 pm it pops up to say "next leave it to beaver, after that the andy griffith show?" and in between with each commercial i'm told that. and then they split the screen while i am trying to read the credits and they show me what is on next while the voice is telling me about it.
they have the same schedule on everyday. if i don't know what is coming on, then i would be too stupid to be able to watch it anyway. if they would quit tooting their own horn, they could show it in its entireity. after all, they are not using the extra time they create to sell commercial time. they just brag on themselves and make me sick.

Ever notice that they only show the episode number and give details about the show for their "prize pets" ??

Andy Screw !!
Leave It to Thrill !!
Gilligan's Dump !!

I'm so darned sick of these three shows I could puke !!
We never get a quick briefing about the few good shows they have like S&S or Archie Bunker's Place.
I too agree with being sick of the horn tooting. Game Show Network is terrible about that. Every show's end credits are squashed into a corner so they can blab about one of their suck-ass originals.

As for editing, well I finally bought the first two seasons of S&S and All In The Family on DVD. The price is not bad at all and it is well worth it. No commercials and the episodes are complete.
Sadly the only way to watch the full episodes any more is to pay for them. Once I get complete collections of my all time favorites, I will probably drop cable tv. I'm sick of paying $55 a month for 20 minute chopped up politically correct epsiodes.

Well, I know I can complain about editing, split credits, and voice overs, which are all very annoying. At least TVL doesn't do the pop up ads. For example, E!'s pop up ad for the Anna Nicole Show. A pink bar pops up that has Anna on it and her dog runs across the bar and starts barking. Yes, that disrupts the whole show. How about FX? Try to watch a show over there now. They advertise that 'Lucky' show during actual commericials and then they pop up for it during the actual show. Then some big ass dice come across the screen. No, I'm not talking Monopoly size dice. I'm talking dice the size of big fuzzy dice that you hang in your car. It's ridiculous. They seriously need to stop it all.

Briefly in 1999,they showed Sanford and Son on Nick at Nite, and in the Piano Movers episode, they deleted the part where Lamont finds the note on the windshield and they went where the guy walks to the door as the doorbell buzzes. The Nick at Nite version shows it with the guy opening the door. Another part they deleted is where Fred tells Lamont about his sacroliliac and how he got it in World War 2,a couple of more parts they deleted was where Lamont says,"We Have A Job To Do Let's Just Do It And Get It Over With" and they showed them walking in their slippers and Fred telling him about how nice a place this was and he wanted to live there and told Lamont about the Supreme Court living anywhere he wanted to. They also deleted the guy's last phone call where they had the piano against the door. Anyone noticed this in the TV Land versions??? I don't have TV Land at all just Nick at Nite.

I've never seen the "unedited" eps, but if they're making them as bad as everyone says...sheesh.

Well you have missed alot of great comedy scenes by not seeing the unedited versions which thank God I am old enough to remember seeing them on NBC first run and as reruns on local and Cable networks like WTBS unedited what tvland is doing to Sanford and Son and other shows is out and out deplorable for the sake of political correctness I know his show which I like Dave Chappele Show on Comedy Central is on late at 10:30 pm but on any given episode you hear the N word around 10 times but if its in the context of Sanford and Son its edited out for political correctness gimme a break tvland

Yes Tv LaND cuts that N-word out a lot. The episode surprise party, when Fred comes back from St.Louis, He says to Rollo-"you want Cheers I give you Cheers-Yippy yippy Yeah Yeah-look who got out of jail today"-but he says something else and TV Land doesn't show it. I saw it on UPN-Fred says after the first Cheer, "you want another one, ok Bim BAM BOOM-someone get this N^^^^gr out of my room. Since you watched Sanford and Son when it ran on NBC i have 3 questions.

!.When Grady took Fred's place hiw long did you think the show would last?

2.Did you watched the spinoff Grady?

3.Did you watched Sanford Arms?

question 1 Not very long Grady needed somebody like Redd Foxx/Fred Sanford to act and be funny with of all the Sanford and Son Episodes without Fred I only liked a couple of them my favorite 2 were the one where Grady got extra Social Security checks and the one about the Wild Parsley they thought was pot they were funny

Question 2 Hated the Grady show might have been ok but his supporting cast and the writing was lame

Question 3 Dont think I liked it been so long since i even saw that show what I remember bout it it was very bad was Redd Foxx on it cant remember

Now I liked the final spinoff of Sanford and Son called Sanford with Fred and Cal played by Dennis Burkley
