An episode that I've wondered about over the years was a very early one ( maybe the first episode). It showed a young family picnicing in I believe a state park out west. When nature called, a young brother and sister were sent(by parents) to an outhouse that was a distance away, but I think within view of where the camp was set up. The boy went in one side of the outhouse and the younger sister went in the other side. When the boy returned to his parents they asked where the sister was and he replied that he had waited a few moments for her and even called her name, but returned to the picnic thinking she had already walked back. (this sends chills up my spine just recalling it). The parents wentback to check and she was no where to be found. The police were called in, and in interviewing the brother they believed someone was waiting in the womans side of the outhouse, and probably covered the sisters mouth so she couldn't scream or answer her brother. and once the brother was back with his parents the person abducted the little girl. I recall that the police made a big deal out of the fact that the screen door to the womans side was heard (by the brother) to only latch once, but not twice that would indicate that she had exited prior to the brother. This area was very remote, no other hikers or campers were around in the imediate vicinity , but a hiker further away later recalled to the police that she had seen a vehicle ( white pickup/camper?) hightail it down the road as she could see from a distance.
Does anyone else recall this? or have there ever been any updates to this sad and chilling episode? |

It was a little girl named Laura. I remember when she disappeared everuyone was driving around with "Help Find laura" stickers on their cars. I believe they caught a man who's van had signs of having abducted and killed a little girl but i dont think he was formally charged.
