did anyone else notice last night that pt.2 of woody's wedding, the theme at least, was in mono (it was also unremastered, but pt. 1 was too). i was recording it cuz i didnt have this ep, and i thought it sounded weirder than pt. 1, so i replayed it, and when i split the sound channels, it didnt change.

Yeah I nioticed it too, that episode and about four others in the Australian syndication package are currently unremastered.
Hopefully for DVD these episodes will be remastered to Stereo. Because I have a $2000 home theater system and I want to be able to take full advantage of that, with some mono stuff you can barely hear. |

u live in australia? cool
out of curiousity, what channel(s) show Cheers there? if there's more than one, do they all show (generally) all remastered eps? do u know which eps arent remastered over there? OT: my computer crashed recently, and i lost everything (all my Cheers stuff, themes, webpage). fortunately, ive got most of the recordings on tape, and some old backup CD's, so i can redo everything (w/ some work lol). anyway, ive been trying 2 find out all about the remastering of Cheers for a new page on my site (ie. how it was done, who did it, why some eps. were skipped, etc.) Doug |

We get Cheers in syndication on a channel called TV1 which shows alopt of old shows like Bewitched and I Love Lucy but also shows more recent shows like Frasier and Becker, It is currently on hiatus until July because it shares a 6 month sechdule with Married With ... Children.
We do generally get remastered episodes with the exception of Woody's Wedding pt2, and a couple of others one of which is very annoyingly Abnormal Psychology. |

OK...ignore my first post here. i was wrong.
for pt. 2 of An Old Fashioned Wedding, only, the REGULAR length theme is in mono (reason still unknown). the short theme WAS in stereo, though neither were remastered. unfortunately, we'll never hear the regular length theme on N@N again, so... and, the rest of the sound of that ep (and all eps, except for totally unremastered eps) is remastered BTW, on N@N, the video of that ep. IS remastered. is it in Australia? |

I remember seeing that episode and it sounds MUCH BETTER in Mono..... Everything is together in 1 place...
In the early 80s they did ALL VHS MOVIES on center mix (That were Mono) and they sound absolutely compared to later releases that are not on center mix..... The audio is lower and it just doesnt sound as good.... I have SAW 1 (2004) and SAW 2 (2005) on VHS and I swear they are both on center mix...Thier audio is quite loud and semi warm!! (No Raw digital mixed in.... THEY ARE VERY WELL DONE (For 2004/5)) |
