What are some things you have learned from TV shows?
1. If a dim-witted person asks you what a yellow light means, DON'T just say "Slow down"! 2. Every workplace has at least one sarcastic, nasty, or egotistical person. 3. Every workplace also has at least one weird or dim-witted person. 4. Babies can age very rapidly. 5. Problems are always solved within the half-hour, or hour. 6. Hostage situations always end peacefully. 7. It only takes a few people to run places like radio stations, taxi stands, and airports. 8. Bars are fun places to be. |

That people can fight for days and days over a serious matter and all they have to do is say two words "I'm Sorry" and then they forget it ever happened

Things I've Learned from TV:
1. No matter what fantastic, unbeliveable things thet happen to you this week, you'll be back where you started next week. 2. Parents saying otherwise hurtful comments to their offspring can be loads of fun... 3. Wild shenannigans that would otherwise get you thrown in jail are looked upon as "wacky behavior" (i.e. breaking into someone's home to retrieve that answering machine tape containing an embarrassing message; putting sleeping pills in someone's coffee; bonking some poor amnesia victim upside the head with a baseball bat to restore their memory, etc.) 4. And speaking of amnesia, your friends use this as an excuse to rehash old episodes (from your life) for the last couple of years... 5. Whatever horrible humiliation you've suffered this week, it'll all be forgotten by next week...just in time for you to humiliate yourself all over again... 6. Bigots, con men, and other undesireables are really just loveable teddy bears underneath... 7. Always blame the innocent goob for your own screwups ("Gilligan, you NUMBSKULL!!") 8. Fat, schlubby comedians ALWAYS have hot-looking wives... 9. Fat Jokes...acceptable bigotry... 10. Kids ALWAYS go off to do their homework when something exciting happens to the adults... There's more, but I wanna give other folks a chance to respond, too...

Every conflict and every crisis can be solved in one of two ways - a softball game or a dance contest.

...I could be replaced and nobody would notice. (But 20 years later, a lot of people will complain, on the internet, that the second "me" wasn't as good.)
...I shouldn't eat crated vegetables that wash up on the beach. ...somewhere in the world, I have an identical twin (who is not related to me). ...intercom systems are nothing but trouble because I'll overhear part of a conversation and have a misunderstanding/argument with a friend (and hilarity will ensue). |

Your best friend or Neighbor is always their when you need them.
parents always have money to give you or you have to get a Job. You hang out with the same friends or people unless theirs a new person added to the show. |

You can have a fabulous Manhattan apartment big enough to land a plane in on a waitress's salary.
Just because you had a heart wrenching breakup with your boyfriend/girlfriend last week doesn't mean you can't still be friends and hang out. Maybe you can help each other find a date! The pretty girl (the one the leading man loves from afar) always dates the biggest jerk on the planet. Your apartment or house is a perfect place for a wedding. Life changing events (weddings, births, proposals, breakups) always happen in November, February, or May. Every person in New York City is thin, under thirty and white.

If you go to school, you and a few select friends/teachers are the only important people in the school, and the teacher teaches your every class.

--People are ALWAYS instantly funny and can produce sarcastic comments and comebacks in the wink of an eye
--A pet can be seen once, and never mentioned again --Suburban houses and New York apartments have colorful decor and nice furniture --No one ever shares memories unless they relate to the storyline or provoke laughs. --The husband will lose the kids at least once throughout the run of the show. --(In recent sitcoms) The husband is portrayed as an idiot and the wife holds the household together. |

Coach- I learned that you only need 3 people to coach a collegiate football team.
The Odd Couple- I learned that consistency is not at all important. Cheers- you can drink all day long and never get drunk. I also learned that a bar opens in the morning and serves coffee. Taxi- I learned all NYC cab drivers are white. Frasier- I learned that psychology pays very, very well. Happy Days- I learned how people from the 50's looked a lot like people from the 80's. Diff'rent Strokes- I learned to fear your local Bicycle shop owner. Gilligan's Island- I learned to always bring several changes of clothing for a 3 hour tour. The Brady Bunch- I learned that you can mow astro turf.
