Well it looks like lots of people prefer My Wife and Kids because it's doing much better in the ratings than 8 simple rules.

8SR was doing better than MW&K until American Idol premired. When AI is off the air again 8SR will probably regain it's higher ratings...

They're both quite similar but I think MWAK is much funnier.

Well both dads on these shows are not strong characters, but my pick would have to be 8 simple rules because nobody is funny on My wife and kids including the stupid dad. So 8 simple rules is still a ad show but a lttle better than My wife and kids.

your kidding? John Ritter and Damon Wayans are great. If it wasn't for Damon Wayans I would probably not watch the show. But I'm kinda Dissapointed with My wife and kids this season. I think Its already starting to go downhill, so far there have been only 3 good epiosdes so far this year.

Dads are suppose to be strong and these two fathers don't appear as serious characters to me. The father on 8 simple rules never gets respect. And the father on my wife and kids is EXTREMELY UNEDUCATED and GOOFY. So there is no strong male role model for either of these families-THE END.

If they were serious people then it wouldn't be a comedy. John ritter not getting any respect is the whole point of the show. Theyre a dysfunctional family. Imagine if it was like that...

Paul- Well hello there Kerry

Kerry- Why Hello there Father, I didn't see you there. You snuck up on me

*Audience Laughs*

Paul- How are you this fine evening?

Kerry- I'm very well thanks. If you excuse me I must go, I have to go give Bridget a Big Hug and a kiss

Paul- Very well dear. Ta Ta

*Audience Laughs*

you see? It'll end up like Full House.
